I thought Megan Rinehart was totally a real writer when she was mentioned in the same convo as Robert Cormier, Judy Blume, Paula Danziger, etc. Claudia looked like a dope when she brought up Stephen King, Danielle Steele, and Louisa May Alcott...yes, Claud, the teachers are really going to assign Danielle Steele novels to 8th graders. I could totally understand MA's shyness about her group presentation throughout the whole book...ugh. I hate those things. And MA's "revealing" outfit...oversized shirt over "tights"...yeah, I was like, Richard let her out in that?! Because then I still thought that tights were stockings, and not leggings

I really like this book. It's probably one of my favorites. The return of the "Sweet Logan" made me so happy. And word about thinking Megan Rinehart was a real author. I once looked her up at the library, trying to find her books. They sounded so nice.

I think a lot of us had that same confusion. I also thought Megan Rinehart was a real author ;D Classic moment was when MA "ached" for Logan...

I loved this story!! I liked the presentation plotline - I can totally relate to the group members that don't do anything, the stress, etc I like it when there's some school involved in the books. I also liked MA a lot in this one. I felt for her so much when the poor girl ached for logan

One of my favourite bits was the end, when Cokie was doing the presentation. Heeheehee.
I love Pete and Logan in this book. Especially Pete.

I just remember thinking that the cover of this book was SO cool when I was a kid. I, like, longed for the days when I would go to the rollerskating rink with my fabulously cool group of BFFs and no parents!

My sister would always snark on this cover, wondering why the rollerskating scene wasn't in the book

^Aw, that's great!
I always wondered why the skating scene wasn't in the book too, booboo! And the girls totally look like they're about 17 years old on the cover.

I was just thinking about this book today! I could have done without the whole toilet monster subplot. Imagine how much water the Korman kids were wasting by constantly flushing their toilet. Great, now I sound like Dawn.
LOL at the part when the girl volunteers to switch groups with Cokie because she hated Pete because he once snapped her bra, the strap broke, and she had to take it off and carry it in her purse all day.
I was so scared to do oral presentations in front of my classes, I would have dropped dead before I got in front of the whole school (or was it just the 8th grade?). Either way I was amazed by Mary Anne.

Hey, is there *any* skating scene in any of the books? Because I remember I once thought I definitely remembered such a scene, and searched through all my books for it, and couldn't find what I thought I read. Did I dream the scene?

I think they went skating in one of the books in the early 70s...that's all I can think of that resembles it.

Yeah, Pete was awesome. I loved his off-hand mannerisms.
Always wondered that myself.

The cover of this book makes no sense. Mary Anne misses Logan... but she's still having the time of her life skating with her friends! They do look really old on the cover. Ohh this is the book with the stupid Toilet Monster. Lame lame lame.
