Liked this book, mostly because I live not far from Chicago and liked how accurate AMM (or the ghostwriter) was with specific landmarks like Wrigley Field (though I'm a Sox fan ), the L Train, and The Museum of Science and Industry (the dollhouse exhibit; I always knew Karen would like it .

The part with Rocky trying to escape from the apartment all the time made me laugh because I had a cat who did that a lot. The visual of Karen running down the hallway screaming at Rocky to come back makes me cringe. If I was Rocky I would have never stopped running.

Ooh, dollhouse exhibit? I haven't read this book yet, but now I'm thinking maybe I should read it soon. This weekend will be the only time before Christmas that I'll have access to my LS collection, and there are a bunch of LS Christmas books, so maybe I should wait until after Christmas instead.

I don't think I have read this! It seems like a good read.

I liked reading about the chapters where Rocky tried to escape. It was different to read where a police officer didn't tell Karen any information about the robbery unlike in Stoneybrook where Office Johnson let the members of the BSC join in on the investigation (though to be fair, Karen is a lot younger than the members of the BSC).

This is the book that made me realize that the little-house family was only moving to Chicago for a few months. Since I am reading which LS books as I get them, I get jumbles of information at different times.
I wonder why Chicago was picked as the city to move to. I guess because it's in the west (and could be exciting to write about). They have already written about tons of cities on the East Coast, California, Disney Land, etc. were already taken.
They should have moved to Canada! (I'm biased, haha).

I enjoy reading this book. I visit the suburbs of Chicago long time ago. When I was between 11-13 years old. (not sure what year, we went.)

This is one of my favorite LS books. I like the change of scenery, and Karen is pretty cute in this book, when she plays detective.

I just reread for a change of BSC scene and thought it was very sweet how happy her little house family was to see Karen and vice versa. Loved that Karen also seemed closer to Andrew and that he was more apart of the story. He helped Karen and Matt look for clues through pictures and I had the very good ides off the bat of asking if it was possible the stolen paintings had been folded up or somehow made smaller (because it was clear they had not left the apartment building). He had the right answer all along as Fred at the end had rolled up the paintings in mailing tubes. Something that made me lol was when Karen complains it would take 2 days for her pictures to be developed.
A BSC reference or reminder...in this book Karen, Andrew and their parents go to Wisconsin for the day and pick 17 pounds of strawberries. That sure sounds like a ton of berries and reminded me of the strawberry festival as the sub-plot to Stacey's Ex Boyfriend. I still would have loved to read about the BSC taking the kids to the water park Splash Down as was mentioned in that book. I know this is getting off topic, so, I'll just end by saying loved how Lisa treated A and K to ice cream one morning before lunch as they had gone somewhere. A smaller moment that made me smile.

^Wow, 17 pounds of Strawberries. Maybe, some of them were for jams or other family member. I only read this once. But, I did like this book.

Doesn't Chicago have any houses? They'd be more suited for a family with pets. That apartment they live in sounds way too small.
I live in a city in Australia and we have apartment buildings in the cbd and the burbs.
