I don't think there was a thread for this one. I didn't like it -- maybe no one else did, either. I've never been a huge fan of the books where the main plot being a parallel of the subplot, which hits the sitter in the head around Chapter 14, but this was just really obvious. As someone well-skilled in the art of declining an invitation, I thought Claudia's lies to Josh were completely unnecessary; I don't think they were even helpful in the short-term.
Also, I didn't notice Claudia actually confessing to Josh that she had lied to him, so that was kind of weird for a BSC book. The explanation for Haley's lies didn't seem to make sense -- I would have bought it for her lies about doing her homework, but the ones she told just to make the sitters look bad? It was weird how one lie would work out for her and then she'd decide lying was the fix for everything that she saw as a problem.

I read this one just a few months ago, but I can't say it stuck in my mind as an overly memorable book... I remember feeling sorry for Josh and being really frustrated with Claudia.

I just read the chapter two for this book, and she doesn't describe Jessi or Mallory! It doesn't mention in the chapter 2 that Jessi is black! It just mentions that Jessi is a junior officer, and her best friend Mallory recently went to boarding school.

That's kinda depressing, after being pushed aside generally throughout the series, Mal and Jessi have been phased out completely!

This one didn't sit well with me....it sort of left me with an indifferent impression when I read it. I'm not a big fan of Josh and Claudia together (or of any of her "return to 7th grade" stuff), so that might have had something to do with it.

liss, they're back in the chapter 2 of #124! I just found it a bit funny that Mallory's red hair and huge family weren't mentioned, and Jessi's normal family size and blackness weren't mentioned, when even in books that aren't set in Stoneybrook (such as Dawn and the We <3 Kids Club) have the full chapter 2.

We must organize a committee in order to study this pressing matter.

Just read and thought it was pretty good. It was a Claudia book where she didn't seem so dumb and lack so much common sense. I did think the roll playing thing was kind of stupid and probably wouldn't have worked. I also found it hard to believe that Hayley would have that easy of a time getting all the girls (especially Charlotte, Becca, and Karen) to belive her. I wouldn't of, even at that age. But I guess I never was one to give in to peer pressure. I loved the scene where Stacey had to play on the bball team and Kristy kept calling violations! I liked Josh better in this book than in some others but was glad he and Claudia broke up. I just don't see them together as a "couple". He seems so young and she's so obsessed with being "cool and mature".

I was so disappointed in this one. I got to the climax and thought, "That's it??!" It was actually kind of boring.

^ I agree. I felt the same way. Also, I doubt the whole "role playing" would have worked. I really didn’t like this book. It made me so angry with Haley and I couldn’t feel for her at all. I also couldn’t get into the subplot since I’ve never liked Claud and Josh as a couple. He seems way too young for her. I was glad, though, that Karen and Becca stuck up for their sisters. I also liked Stacey’s chapter. ;D

We must organize a committee in order to study this pressing matter. LOL! ;D For some reason, this joke never gets old (for me at least). I don't think I liked this book. I don't remember it, because I kinda blazed right through it, so I get it mixed up with Claudia's Party (or whatever) in my head. It didn't leave much of an impression on me, it seems. I liked the stuff with Josh, mainly because I really like him. I felt bad for him, since he really liked Claudia for so long. And even though I've said it more than once before, I'll say it again, he was my favourite (or at least one of them) of the BSC boyfriends - in a way, I think he was too good for Claudia. The scene with them at the park and flying kites or racing boats or whatever it is was pretty cute. They seemed to have a genuine friendship, which is nice to read about. As for the Haley stuff - I really don't remember much about it. Time for a re-read, I guess! All I know is that I really didn't like Haley at all. I usually don't, but I especially didn't like her in this one.

^ I like Josh, too, but just not at all with Claudia. I think he would have been cute with Mal (though I love Ben ;D). I did feel for him in his relationship with Claud - the whole time. ;D
