Also known for it's glaring inconsistincy for the now-were-sisters present.
I did like how the present was a cat pin. In the previous book MA wanted to give something like that the Sharon for her birthday and Dawn told her Sharon wouldn't like it.
MA was a huge B****! I know she'd lived in one house all her life and her life was changing, but so was everyone elses. They were making an effort. Although, except for Sharon siding with MA during one fight, I'm glad no one gave her special treatment. You know, because she's so sensitive.
If anybody was tip toed around it was Sharon. Richard, MA, and Dawn are cleaning the entire house and she'd just absentmindedly wiping stuff with a cloth. Stuff that shouldn't even be dusted? And getting engrossed in the movie to point were she wouldn't even join in the argument about whether to clean up now or later. That's not oblivious or absent minded or scatterbrained. That's someone took too many drugs in college and it's a miracle her children turned out normal.
Dawn's plan to scare MA with the passage was hilarious. I would love to do something like that. But, saying it was the right thing to do because then she wouldn't have to admit she was wrong? NO. She was just chicken. Then at the end it was turned around to imply that that was the best choice in order to spare her and MA feelings or whatever.
The Pikes being sick was boring and unlikely. All those different illnesses and accidents happening at once?
It took me a minute to remember that it was the Hobarts that moved into MA's old house. I like how they didn't introduce them at the end of the book. It was a good way to leave a loose end.
And can we talk about Richard being strict? I think he may have some sort of mental disorder. All of his socks were lined up alphabetically by color?
