I just finished rereading this book last night. Am I the only one who thought that Mary Anne's party outfit sounded really fresh and dibble? It was her famous-cities skirt: "a full white skirt with the words Paris, Rome, and London, and stretchy pink and blue pictures of the Eiffel Tower, the Tower Bridge, and other stuff scrawled all over it. She matched it with a pink shirt and a baggy pink sweater...In the shoe department we found white slipons with pink and blue edging that matched the pink and blue in the skirt." I remember when I first read that book when I was like 10, I wanted an outfit just like that.
Also, I think it would've been way more embarrassing to run out on your own party and then face those people in school the following days, than to just stay and open the presents.

This has to be my favorite BSC book. i wish that they'd have more things about her and Logan in there, though. I would really have loved to have a version of this in his POV (I thought about writing a fic like that once)- like he had in "The Baby-sitters Remember", but the whole book. It would have been sweet. I did think that it was really stupid of her to run out of her own party- but that's just a part of Mary Anne's character. I think that one day she's going to look back on that and just laugh or something. I bet it would have been really funny to see Cokie's reaction to when Logan took Mary Anne to the dance. I swear, I would have loved to have seen a whole novel on Logan and Mary Anne's developing relationship, because it just seems so...short in this one. Geni

!! Agreed on the outfit! I still think it sounds like areasonably decent outfit, not like those atrocious Claudia creations.

OMG! I just remembered something I did a long time ago. Remember at the party when Justin Forbes prank called the party about a pig farm? I told that to my older cousin and he called up my grandpa and prank called him using the "Atlanta Pig Farm" thing. LOL. Such dorks we were. Geni

This cover is rather creepy with Jackie Rodowski gazing so lovingly at Logan.
It would have been nice to have Logan's point of view because I have no idea why he pursued Mary Anne. All the chapter 2s have the "Mary Anne's super shy. How ironic that she's the only one with a serious boyfriend!" paragraph, but she didn't really do anything to get Logan except not tell him to go away when he showed up. Why did Logan pick her?

Because they're M2B of course! I found it odd that Mr. Spier hesitated so much about getting Mary Anne a kitten but had no problem (seemed happy in fact) about her having a boyfriend.

Well, it's not like you need to worry about taking a boyfriend to the vet or worry about the kitty litter In the BSC Remember Super Special, Logan's chapter is about meeting Mary Anne for the first time, and it's a bit like it's this book told from his point of view. It has his POV on the Rodowsky baby-sitting job.

Logan wouldn't spit up hairballs or claw the furniture...

i would have loved it if they either had a seperate book for this one with Logan's pov through the whole book...kind of like see the "behind the scenes" look at it through his eyes. I loved his chapter in SS#11- I just wish it was longer. I would love to see his reasons for liking MA over girls like Stacey and Claudia, too. Anyone care to write a fic about that for me? lol Geni

It just now occurred to me how similar this cover is to Boy-Crazy Stacey. A sitter and her charge gazing lovingly at a cute blond guy. I used to think Logan's chapter in the Babysitters Remember book was really charming. I think one thing he absolutely loved about MA was her smile...doesn't he say something at the end like, she gave him a genuine smile and right then he knew she was the one for him. I think that was a big deal in Logan Likes Mary Anne as well, when they're getting together for their Jackie sitting job and MA is really nervous and finally decides to settle down and have fun, and gives him a big smile and their romance kind of starts there. Ahh, if it wasn't for The Walking Disaster...

Yeah...it was that smile that got him. He also mentions it in "Logan's Story." I thought that was so sweet that she liked him and, for once, the guy the shy girl likes really liked her back. It would have been easy for him to like Stacey or Claudia, but I love that he chose Mary Anne. Wonder what would have happened if Jackie hadn't been such a Walking disaster? I mean, do you think she would have had such a good time? lol. It was almost like Jackie brought them together. Geni

Well, in Logan's story he mentions how he likes that MA never puts on make-up and just walks around with her natural look. Maybe that's why he didn't particularly go for Stacey or Claudia? Because they are always looking to put make-up on themselves.

But he loved her glamorous makeover. She then looked like a little boy in drag, though, so that brings new questions to the subject.

Well he had to support her. I mean, I think he knew that her friends were giving her a hard time about it.
