I think this is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day books. I love all of the stuff about the Little House breakfast and party (the food sounds great ;D) and the class party. Brings back good memories. Also love the McDonalds scene with Emily and am glad they finally go there in a book since I go there so much and always have that it almost seems weird that characters never do. I also participated (a bridesmaid ;D) in a playground wedding so that brings back good memories. Ricky kissing Karen on the cheek was really cute. Also can really relate to the whole Pamela bday and Pamela getting everyone to be nice to her, etc. thing and Karen feeling like a “terrible person.” This is one of my favorite LS books.

How did Pamela get everyone to be nice to her? Wasn't it just Ricky who was unusually nice? I know everyone gave her good presents except Karen, but I assumed it was because their parents made them bring gifts she'd like, not because they wanted Pamela to like them and/or because they wanted to be nice. I liked how in class Pamela said, "I wish I could only have a party with my two best friends" and Karen said, "I wish you could have." This is one of my favorites too. I like when Karen and Andrew made valentines at home, Karen made that card for Ricky (lol at her wanting to put "I love you, Ricky"), the little house breakfast, and the class party. I felt so bad for Natalie that she got the fewest cards And it was nice that Karen asked her to play violin at her wedding. The part where Ricky kissed her and Karen was like "so this is what it feels like to be in love" or whatever, and they walked back to school "slowly" always made me a little uncomfortable as a kid ;D I did not want to get "married" at seven ;D

I love this book! It still is my favorite Valentines day book. I have so many favorite parts of this book. One of them being Karen and Hannie planning her actual wedding. Another one is reading all the stuff they got in Pamela's goody bag. It always sounded so exciting when I was a kid.

Yeah, the goody bags sounded cool.
Anyone remember the illustration of Karen and Ricky after they got their faces painted? Karen was a cat and Ricky was Darth Vader ;D

^ I think the goody bags made all the kids very happy and then they weren't complaining about the party. I guess that's what I meant more than the kids all being nice to her.

This is definitely one of my favorite Valentine's Day books, no question . I hope someone on LJ e-books this soon so that I can read it again. Loved the little house party (I'll be thinking about their breakfast when I wake up tomorrow ;D) and the McDonald's trip. Karen and Ricky's wedding used to make me really want someone to get married on the playground ;D. Plus, I thought Pamela's party sounded awesome. I lol'd when Karen gave Pamela a crappy gift and everyone else gave her good gifts, even Hannie and Nancy (because their moms made them give her a nice gift ;D). I was also jealous of those goody bags. I wanted one ;D.

This is probably my favourite LS book. It was one of the first ones I ever read, and I can pretty much recite it. Valentine's Day isn't a big deal where I live, so I liked seeing what it was like in Karen's world.

But without the kiss, musician and suits (we did wear nice clothes, though) and the "minister" dressed up in his dad's bathrobe and "read" the vows from his literature book. ;D

^ It was really funny. I guess he knew it was a robe.... ;D What made it even funnier is he was the same kid who played Santa Claus in our school play. ;D Booboo, I would have felt the same way as you about the kiss if I had read this one as an adult. I didn't like it that much, either, though I thought Bobby kissing Pamela was hilarious. ;D
