The fact that the girls are always in awe of Stacey and Claud for being sophisticated. IMO, they dress like clowns from the description of their clothes.

I think some of the sitters tend to really whine in their notebook entries when the kids are less-than-perfect-adorable, I think Mallory and Abby in particular tend to be (both in initial reacting to it in their thoughts and then writing about it) outraged when they get any kids complaining, let alone misbehaving, or even lacking in enthusiasm.

They often write, more often and in later books (the sitters were all a little hyperbolic early on) things like "You will not believe this happened"/"I could not believe it" and then it's something fairly minor.

Also that Mallory and, to a lesser degree and less often, the other sitters would get frustrated at listening to Vanessa's poetry/rhyming as if that was really annoying, intolerable, I'm not even into poetry or rhyming and yet even hearing a lot sounds more interesting than not. It's especially bad in Mallory's case as you would think a writer/creator would at least be really tolerant of it if not encouraging.

They seemed almost cult like (I think that's the right word) in the later books.

I'm so annoyed with everybody saying how sophisticated Stacey is. If I was in the same room as Stacey, I would force her into a fugly muumuu. That will shut her up real quick.

^Do you think she was pretty-pretty or just rich pretty? I like to pretend she was super bland Gwyneth Paltrow-ish with clothes that everyone was fascinated by.

She seemed naturally pretty. I don't know if the perm added to or detracted from to her looks, though, yet I wasn't really a fan of her shorter, straighter hair she had later in the series.

Claudia's increasingly stupidity really bugged me as the series went on. I don't know any other character I've read got dumber as time passed to the point that they can't spell their own name.

Also that all the sitters except for Dawn would act like tofu was so awful, that's hard for me to relate to (I think at worst it's blandly tasteless but usually good).
