^ ;D Though sometimes (occasionally being the difference) I make huge typos - even when writing notes really fast - like that. I have to laugh and say "Claudia moment." ;D

While somewhat annoying, Claudia's horrible spelling isn't nearly as annoying as her being sooooo talented at every...single....type...of...art! I didn't think much of it when I was a kid and "being talented in art" meant taking a bunch of fun local crafty classes (like glass bead making, metal, pottery, that kinda thing) but as an art major now it grates on my nerves. Our art program requires its majors to take courses in just about everything... drawing, 2D, 3D, ceramics, sculpture, painting... and while I can understand drawing being required of everyone, I wish they'd just let us focus on an emphasis instead of wasting our time with courses we have no interest in whatsoever. While I know lots of people who may have switched their focus (or tried everything just for fun), there is no such f***ing thing as an artist naturally gifted in EVERYTHING. Everyone I know has some aspect of art they're horrible at. Were there any books where Claudia just sucked at a certain kind of art? Sure she's been told that she needs more discipline but her lack of a focus irritates me. I guess though thats how alot of "artsy" types are portrayed in stories, the whole "they're just so good at everything!" thing by people who's conception of artists comes from what they've seen on tv.

Sometimes I wonder if people were just trying to be nice to Claudia and help her self esteem by telling her how good she was in art. I don't t hink any of it sounded that great ;D (but I admit I know nothing about art and have no artistic talent whatsoever)

It was kind of implied that Claudia sucked at knitting. Sure, it's not really "art", but it is something sort of crafty and creative. And I got the impression from earlier books that she was better at sculpture then anything else. That could just be reading into things. Also, she's a terrible sign maker. I can't believe no one helps her with the spelling.

I'm annoyed that Abby's other interests,like sports,are a lot like Kristy's interests.She's like,just copying Kristy. Why didn't they just used Anna's interests as Abby's interests instead?
And I also agree, that Kristy isn't immature, and Mary Anne isn't babyish I was kinda mad when Stacey said that the first time she met Mary Anne,Mary Anne looked like Little Bo Beep. It wasn't fair. Claudia's really nice though for telling Mary Anne that her old jumper(which her father picked out for her,of course)was now trendy ^_^

Yeah, now that I think of it, it would have been nice to have someone in the club with musical interests. I'm actually surprised that none of the other girls were into that. They could have made Abby just as hyper and exuberant without making her a sports nut. Maybe the writers were stereotyping the musical characters by making Anna, the violinist, quiet and serious. They probably felt that music didn't go with Abby's personality.

^ I've always thought that about the music. I actually wish it would have bene Anna who had joined the club in addition to - or even instead of - Abby, though I did enjoy the conflict and competition between Abby and Kristy.

Oh, I always loved how Abby stood up to Kristy and didn't let Kristy get to her. ;D It's especially a nice change of pace to see, considering how all the other girls were so terrified of "The Look." ;D

i don't like how they don't try to talk to their friends about things, or they just assume that people are mind readers. Like with Mallory and her on strike, or with her parents. She never tried telling them about her writing assignment and she acts like she's oppressed but if she was unhappy, she should try telling her folks that, or buying clothes with her babysitting money. I dont' think I ever remembered her buying stuff for herself. And she complains about earrings later in a different book when she said she's only allowed studs. Mallory TOLD herself to wear studs only, her parents didn't put that onto her, her mother told her "whats the fun of pierced ears if you only wear studs" in the Trouble with Twins book.
I think most of them need to try communicating better with eachother, family and friends. If they are so closely knit, why must they keep things from each other? I don't know, I never kept a problem to myself if i was aware of the problem Sometimes I had a problem in live that i did not KNOW was a problem in my heart. XD if that makes sense.

^but that would have been one more thing for them to research (poorly). Why expand your horizons when you can just use the information you already have for Kristy and add "Jewish" to her character? Makes everything so much easier, sell another million books, make another couple million dollars, buy a yacht and retire. Oh, but AMM isn't like that. She doesn't care about boats and planes. I have never met a quiet music major.

Maybe they were trying to make Anna un-stereotypical (in that aspect only ;D) by making her a quiet musician.
