I also really like reading about when she goes into total witches and ghosts mode. It's just eye-rollingly funny, especially when someone's sitting for her during a thunderstorm. I love those scenes in BSC, and one of my favorite LS books is Karen's Ghost, when she really gets into the Ben Brewer/third floor/fried dandelion stuff.

^ Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes reading about Karen. I don't like her quite as much in the regular series but really love the LS books. I used to hate her but when I look at everything from a new perspective, I find a lot of ways that I can relate to her. And I can always use her confidence I also like Jamie really well, though. He is one of the first charges that I read about and became one of my favorites. His songs and phrases are so cute. There were supposed to be more choices on this poll but I messed up and posted another one somewhere. It's buried a few pages back now, I think.

Karen just seems so cute in the books. I know she can get on people's nerves though.

Karen Brewer. She dosen't seem too bad of a kid. She always thinks of fun interesting things to do and she's very creative.

I think I would most prefer to sit for Karen near her bedtime, so that I could just read a story to her. She always wants like three or four books read to her.

^Good idea. I would watch her if a holiday was coming up. She loved those holiday decorations. I think I could handle sitting at the kitchen table while she made Valentines or a shamrock or something. I just wouldn't feed her sugar. Ever.

Jamie of course! He's so cute, and I love the photo of him and Claudia from Claudia's Scrapbook.

I picked Jaime because his hi-hi sounded cute. I'm not sure where Karen would be on favorite sittng charges.

Between Jamie and Karen, I vote for Jamie all the way. His "Hi-Hi" was very cute but (I have taught preschool for many years) is that really something a 4 year old would constantly say? More like 2-3. But then Claire Pike's trademark is "silly-billy-goo-goo" so who knows? Jamie always sounded very sweet and like a lot of fun. Karen on the other hand got annoying very quickly.

I think the main reason I prefer Jamie to Karen is that Karen becomes overused, while Jamie sort of disappears from the books after a while. I miss him. There was one book I didn't like him in, though - I think it was in "Mallory Hates Boys (and Gym)", but I think Jamie's bratty behaviour was a bit OOC, but then all the boys were acting OOC there to prove Mallory's point.

I like Karen, but I find her to be difficult to take care of, so I'm going to go with Jamie.

Out of these two Karen, although the Perkins girls are adorable too.
