^ Out of curiosity, when did they mention that Adam was 40 seconds older than Jordan? 40 seconds is like...nothing. Almost as if Jordan came out and then Adam literally shot out of Mrs. Pikes va-jay-jay.
I agree with you that I wouldn't have thought Byron was older. However, in hindsight, I can see it now. He seems a bit more mature than the others, and in All New Mallory Pike -- I believe -- he takes to the older sibling role very well. But, seriously, I don't think that him being the older sibling has much merit. But I guess kids brag about only being a few minutes older. It reminds me of a friend of mine in high-school, who was from England (her accent wore off totally) and was a year older than me in school but was over a month younger than me in reality. I was born 3 months prematurely, so she'd always say "I'm older because I was conceived first" and really got defensive about it (when in truth, I'm older. Sorry hun but if everyone counted their ages by when they were conceived, it would all be messed up!)

i can never remember who is the oldest, but i know adam is second, because putting his initial makes a pronounceable sound and that's how i taught myself to remember.

^It's in "Claudia and the Lighthouse Ghost." Page 93. The triplets are arguing over who will get to look through the Pikes new telescope first. Naturally, the elder Pikes had to leave, so it was up to Mal to maintain order. Mal instructs her siblings, "to line up in age order. Claire first."
Adam tells Jordan that he (A) "is forty seconds younger than" Jordan. Mal finally tells the triplets to line up in reverse order of their birth "Byron, Adam, and Jordan." I take it that means the true order was Jordan, Adam, and Byron or Jeff's nickname for the triplets, "JAB."

I would assume with 40 seconds between them that the triplets were a c section. But I've only given birth once to one child so not sure how it works with multiples. 40 seconds just sounds so fast for another one to come out.
virgoscorpio: with preemies when they are little doctors do go based of 'adjusted age' based on conception rather than birth date. My son was born at 36 weeks so just barely considered a preemie and for his first 6 months he was evaluated based on development for his gestational age. When we were given growth charts showing his percentile it would have a line for gestational age and another for actual age. He was not very early so by 6 months he was being evaluated on actual age rather than gestational but micro preemies can be evaluated by gestational age for the first 2 years. Of course in the long run only the birth day matters.

I am fairly certain that natural, vaginal birth is almost NEVER attempted with triplets!

^ Remember when I asked you about Germaine Greer (Australian feminist)? Well, she mentions how twin and triplet births, for example, were really hard in medieval days, or 1800s or whenever, because ordinary women would usually help mothers give birth. And, let's say a woman was having twins and both babies were coming out at the same time, the "nurse" was supposed to PUSH THE SECOND BABY BACK IN! That's *so* dangerous. The chances of air getting into the uterus is extreme. No wonder there weren't many successful twin or triplet births then!

^ Yeah your right about that. You think they will have more than one midwives or nurses while the mother gives birth to more than one baby. That's probably why the mother dies in childbirth or of the babies died.
I came out fast, when I was born. My mom had wait for the doctor to finish his coffee. The old nurse, was like we had go by the book, wait for the doctor to come in. The new nurse was like, the baby is ready. So, they had my my mom hold her legs together. Until the doctor came in. When he finally came in. Told my mom to push. Zoom!! I was out of the womb like a bullet.

I'll be honest, I detest these three. They seemed like completely pointless characters aside from being mean to Nicky. I mean, seriously, they couldn't have been developed even slightly?
I dunno, they just never clicked for me.

I know Adam, Byron, and Jordan aren't always the kindest of brothers. I wanted to share a moment I had forgotten about from Kristy and the Walking Disaster. At the game between the Bashers and Krusher's the Basher's cheerleaders start chanting some nasty things like "strike out," to Claire. Anyway the Pike trio make a grand entrance decked out in their little league uniforms and join Vanessa, Charlotte, and Haley in cheering for the Krushers. I thought that was awesome. I am a Pike fan generally and have always loved when the boys especially surprise us like in this example or also in MA and Miss Priss when Adam tells Jenny he will figure out a way she can play or Jordan lets Claire ride on his shoulders during the Halloween Parade in Fright Night. I think when we got to read about and know each boy separately, they could be awfully dibble and to their own siblings.

I never liked the Pike triplets. I have to agree that they aren't very well developed except for being mean to Nicky. I mostly thought of them as obnoxious brats...I couldn't stand them in the Ghost at Dawn's House!
However, I do at least like Byron even if he does like to eat everything including baby formula. When he isn't with Adam and Jordan, he's a pretty decent guy. I also thought it was sweet when he seemed to have a little crush on Stacey (there are evidence in Babysitters on Boards and in Boy-Crazy Stacey).
