I never thought of her as the Mallory, but I see your point. I remember "Karen's in love" (I think it was) that so didn't get many valentines. I like Natalie.

I just read that one this morning! That's what made me think of it. I think poor Natalie is disliked even more than Mallory, though. Droopy socks, lisp, no friends. I liked the Kids in Ms Colman's Class story about Natalie but even the title "Second Grade Baby" shows how much Ann seems to hate her.

I agree that it would have been great to see more of Karen's classmates in the regular BSC books! Can you imagine the BSC sitting for Pamela?

I was thinking the same thing about Pamela - that would make for an interesting story. Maybe she could get together with Cokie or one of the other awful older girls at SMS. As for Natalie and Mallory, I think Natalie needs the influence of one of the more confident girls. I remember the "find Natalie a friend" subplot (actually kind of mean, if you think of it) in one of the BSC books. Anyone remember which book?

We really need to compile a simple list of which subplot goes with which book.

Oh the Natalie subplot was really sad. It was cute how she loved Claudia, but I felt so bad for her!

Its so sweet that we wanted to be best friends with her, and that they were the "two musketeers"

I was glad whenever Karen's classmates showed up in a BSC book. I liked her classmates and it was cool to read about them from a different perspective.

I thought it was nice that Becca wanted to invite Natalie Springer to the welcome home party for Jessi in Jessi's Big Break. Too bad it didn't really say anything about Natalie being there except that she came.

Too bad it didn't really say anything about Natalie being there except that she came. She does? I was always disappointed that Natalie became "almost inseperable" from Becca and Charlotte in Claudia and Crazy Peaches but that she wasn't really seen again. It seemed like Becca and Charlotte let Natalie hang out out with them for a while then got tired of her and ditched her. That doesn't sound like them at all.

I just read abou the Newtons' cousins - the Feldmans - in Dawn on the Coast. I know I remember them in another book but can't remember which one. They are interesting to read about. Do they live in Stoneybrook or were they just visiting?

I think they're in both Kristy's Great Idea and Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls.

I think they're in all three of those books -- doesn't Kristy tell them, "One false move and I'll punch your lights out," in Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls?
