^ Is there one for Uncle Dandy's talent agency ;D Never clicked on them but sometimes notice them. I wish they would have featured Rosie in more books. It would have been interesting to learn more about her and see how things developed with her and her parents and her career. Just read Fashion Victim and started thinking about Mrs. Wilder, wondering if she would turn out like Harmony's mother who totally pushed her daughter. I think she's headed in that direction.

^ Me, too! It happens all the time. Add me to the list of people who feel sorry for Rosie. The poor girl, I can't imagine having to live like that - especially at her age. I'd go crazy if I didn't have any downtime. Mrs. Wilder is a major concern here. I can see her as the type to totally drop everything and move to Hollywood, and invest the family's entire savings account into trying to make Rosie's career. Again, poor Rosie! One thing that does bug me about Rosie, though, is that she's amazing at art. I mean, she's almost as good as Claudia!! Even as a kid, I rolled my eyes a little when it's revealed that Rosie is a wonderful artist on top of everything else. Why couldn't she have just been mediocre, and wanted to take art class just for fun? Oh, well. I always got the sense that Claudia was a bit jealous of Rosie's artistic abilities, but maybe that's just me. ETA: Somewhat irrelevant, but I kind of picture Uncle Dandy looking a little something like this.

I just started rereading Genius of Elm Street and Rosie seems kind of bratty - like a real know it all. Maybe that's just Claudia's perception because she's feeling insecure, though. Was Rosie like that in other books? I know she always seemed a bit cocky (or maybe just very self-assured would be the best way to put it) but don't remember her being like she is at the beginning of Genius. Of course, maybe Claudia's lack of intelligence is frustrating her. I know it would me ;D

^ I think that she just was oblivious towards using tact by just not thinking about being modest at all.

I think she was bratty to cover up for her hurt. She was made fun of at school and so she wasn't used to people being nice to her other than her parents and her agent. She wanted to rub it in that she was all that and more, at the beginning. She got a lot better, towards the end when she wasn't so busy and was happier. Everyone can be a big brat when they are overwhelmed and busy and it is especially hard for children to cover that up.

I was like this yesterday and tend to get really edgy and bratty when I feel stressed. ;D

I think Rosie was way too overdone. It's fine to make someone have a talent, but AMM went overboard.

I don't think Rosie's talents are unbelievable. I know people who are music-people and can just pick up an instrument and master the basics in a day, and go from there. And things like singing and dancing go hand-in-hand with that. Especially if she's been working at these things daily most of her life, you can learn things like that so much easier when you're younger.

lmfao @ the affair
I liked how Claudia helped her discover that art is what she really loved.
