^It was the one where Amanda comes to visit. She gets all upset because she loved that house and didn't want to move. Then Melody says something like "well, I didn't want to move either. And my parents put in the garden so I would remember our old house"
Oh, and Kormans DO play tennis, because in one of the last books, they were headed off to play tennis, which was why they needed a sitter. I don't like them very much, they seem to cater to their children too much, I don't like the kids very much either. Toilet monsters and tats annoy me.

^ How do you mean they cater too much to their children?

^Oh, well, Melody missed her old house, so they had the tennis courts taken out and built her a garden. Skylar is scared of the fountain, so they have it removed. I don't really know, I just think they are weird, and I don't like them very much. I liked the original residents of that mansion much more, as they were interesting.

^ I don't care for the Kormans either and see what you're saying, though I can't see keeping something that is obviously traumatizing your child and think building a garden for Melody is a nice gesture and a nice way to help her adapt. I guess I was catered to too much, though, too. ;D Now I'm wondering, did it really specify if they had the garden replace the tennis court. Maybe they had the garden put somewhere else???

^Yes, it was specified but I can't remember which book it was that Amanda came back. The fountain -- well, that's not a big deal really, if it was ugly and no one liked it. But I think that when you are talking about property values, she could have had a garden anywhere. But whatever. I just think they sound really weird, and maybe a little spoiled and whiny. Whiny about the move, the toilet, baby-sitters... (And what was up with the Delaney's not fixing their plumbing?)

^ I agree that they were whiney (not about that stuff as much as in other books) and just a bit odd, in general. I think of the toilet monster every time ours makes a weird noise. ;D

Oh, did they have the fountain removed? I thought I remember reading in one book that they just left it turned off.

They turned it off, then they had it removed -- but then it shows up again. So I don't know.

I know that in the BSC books Skylar was scared of cats, but didn't they get one of Growly's kittens in Karen's Kittens? I'm fairly sure it was them, because I remember that Nancy had a kitten as well so Karen had a friend with a kitten near both of her houses. That's some pretty sucky continuity there.

I wish the Delanceys had never moved. I really liked Amanda.

very boring, who changes a tennis court into a vegetable garden? I used to think Amanda was so mean to her when she visited her old house, but at least she had spunk.

Ugh, the Kormans. They're probably my least favourite clients. I always skip their sitting chapters. I don't know why I dislike them so much, since they don't show up much (luckily). They're just really, really annoying to me. The toilet-monster thing was stupid, and I didn't like how Skylar was afraid of, like, everything.
I never thought about how similar they are to the Papadakis family, but you're all right! Both families have the older boy (how old is Linny? His age has changed a few times throughout the series), the 7 year old middle daughter and the 2 year old daughter. Except, in my opinion, the Papadakises are much cooler than the Kormans! ;D
Also have to agree about the Delaneys, they were much more interesting than the Kormans. I love how Amanda brags and brags about her $400 cat. I'd like to read the book where Amanda visits - does anyone know off-hand which book it is?

The book where Amanda visits is LS #31, Karen's Bully.
I never felt strongly about the Kormans one way or another, they were just kind of another "who cares" family that filled in some space in some books. Of course Skylar was just another perfect baby who was content sitting in a high chair with a handful of Cheerios while the sitter did projects with her big brother and sister. Bill and Melody were kind of boring. The toilet monster was incredibly stupid. They never really had a good plot, and the only book in which I found them sort of interesting was their little subplot in Claudia's Big Party, where Bill was being really mean to Melody and was grounded for most of the book. This was interesting to me mostly because it wasn't another boring talent show, and it wasn't a bunch of boringly perfect siblings being boringly perfectly nice to each other all the time.
