I think the reason the Marshall kids didn't show up much in the later series was because in Kristy and Mr Mum, it says that the Marshalls have a nanny now so they rarely need sitters...

^ That would explain it. Also, there was the little issue with the 2 sitters mixup in that one.... Even though it was resolved at the end, I can imagine some tension remained.

Mr. Marshall is in #2, Claudia & The Phantom Phone Calls, but he disappears? He's not even mentioned in the Complete Guide.

Yeah, but you'd think he'd be home for dinner or something.

^ ;D That would be an explanation because Kristy and Mr Mom seems like one situation where he should have at least been mentioned. Now I'll have to check other books that feature the Marshalls to see if he's mentioned at all.

I’ve looked through all the subplots I can find with the Marshalls and the only mention of a Mr. Marshall is in #2 Phantom Phone Calls. One other book does say “the Marshalls got a housekeeper” but this could mean Mrs. Marshall and the girls. A lot of those jobs, though, where he wasn’t mentioned were afternoon jobs so it would make sense that he was at work. I’m just not sure but I’m very curious now where he is in Mr. Mom. ;D

I think he is working in the city. He sleeps in his office and comes home on weekends. Or he travels a lot and is in China (throughout the entire 20 years of the BSC.) ;-)

^ Those are some good theories. ;D I'll bet he's a lawyer, too. And his name is probably some form of John. ;D By the way, are any of the charge parents' names ever mentioned?

linda and jack (haha) arnold. natalie and franklin dewitt. hamilton barrett. carolyn braddock. harold and michelle hill. janice hoyt. peggy johanssen. harry and caroline kuhn. denise lowell. roger newton (interestingly enough, no first name for mrs. newton is listed in the cg, which seems weird to me). george papadakis. we know that mrs. perkins name is beth cause of the real-life beth perkins. madeleine and nick prezzioso. mariel rodowsky. cookie sobak. nikki and thomas stanton-cha. ginger and george wilder.

It reminds me of both Ginger Rogers and a stereotypical redheaded p*rn star at the same time.
