She's not really used in many books but I was kind of surprised that she hasn't been discussed. I like her pretty well and enjoy reading about how obsessed she is with "American Culture." I love it in MA and the Little Princess (I think it's that one) when her parents say she can go to any restaurant and she wants to go to Pizza Hut. What book is it in when she has to move back home and MA doesn't say goodbye? She can be kind of bratty but I've always enjoyed reading about her. What books is she in other than Little Princess and European Vacation?

Mary Anne and the Playground Fight was the book where Victoria moved back to England. I think those 3 books are the only ones to feature her. I loved in Little Princess that she buys some "American movies" and one of them is Toy Story. I was obsessed with that movie when I read that book so I was like "OMG they said Toy Story!" ;D

aw yeah she is pretty cute. I hardly remember her in Euro Vacation but she was so funny in Little Princess when she was all into the American stuff. Now I want to re-read that!

^ I think so. I had forgotten about this but found it funny. Remember my own mom's reaction when I used this word proudly for the first time when I was 8 ;D (I hadn't heard it from the BSC but from an older girl who I used to idolize) Imagine how Richard would have reacted to MA saying that... I'll have to reread Little Princess and Playground War is on my list of summer rereads so coming up soon.

I actually thought she was really cute. I found it cute how she was trying to sound "American".

Haha I remember using "it sucks" in a story for english when I was 9, because I was used to hearing my older brother and sister saying it and it was a story about them ;D The teacher seemed amused by it, then told me I mustn't ever say that in my work... hmm if that were Mallory she'd probably yell at her about artistic freedom and if she removed that phrase it would be LIES!!!

Even though she can be kind of bratty, I really like Victoria and find it funny how she is so obsessed with being "American". It is so cute how she thinks that things American kids take for granted - like hot dogs - are awesome and how she tries to use American phrases. I felt kind of sorry for her in MA and the Little Princess when the other kids were treating her like some kind of exhibit (looking for a better word but not able to find it right now - hopefully this makes sense ;D) when she just wanted to fit in. I also felt bad for her with her parents always "flitting" off. Another point on Victoria is it sounds like she has some cool toys ;D I especially liked the dollhouse that she was playing with in Little Princess and wouldn't mind having one. I'm looking forward to reading MA and the Playground Fight soon so I can read more about the Little Princess

^ I really liked Vicki, too, and felt for her with the other kids treating her like she was some type of "novelty." As for the DVDs, I doubt her nanny would have let her have them since they might "corrupt" her. ;D

they wouldn't work in uk dvd players anyway, unless her parents had a region-free player.

^ Never even considered that. ;D Do they have uk DVD versions of the shows, though (that would work in the players)?

^ I would think they'd have those in the UK, too. Now I'm imagining Vicki watching Friends and Sex in the City. What would Mrs. Rutherford think??? ;D ;D
