^That makes sense, it does sound very old-fashioned.

Wonder if the character was based on him ;D Just read MA to the Rescue and think this is where my negative impression of Mr. Bruno comes from. He seems kind of like one of those guys from the movie "Skulls" or something who wants their kid to be part of the same little society that they belonged to. Just gave me a creepy feeling. He seemed kind of hard headed and unwilling to listen, even though he did in the end. Mrs. Bruno did stand up to him but I got the impression that this didn't happen often - especially because Logan even said that she'll just go along with whatever her husband wants. I think this book was what gave me the impression of the Brunos and it isn't a very good one. I was disappointed, though, that Kerry and Hunter weren't featured in it. I do like reading about them - Hunter especially.

yeah i really don't like mr. bruno. i think my impression of him also comes from logan's reader's requests where logan says that mr bruno thinks logan's in the bsc only cause mary anne is, and that's the only way mr. bruno can accept it.

Yeah, I noticed that they weren't regular clients, but I figured that if Logan happened to be home, then he would sit for Kerry & Hunter. Also....it doesn't seem like Squirt & Becca were ever sat by anyone other than Jessi. You never hear about Mary Anne's struggles with getting Squirt to go to sleep, or trying to calm down Becca after a scary movie, etc.

I read in SS 4 that Hunter had an asthma attack. I know he has really bad allergies but I donβt remember asthma being mentioned before. Was it? If so, I think itβs strange that MA didnβt seem to have a clue to what it was when she sat for Stephie in SS 5β¦.

Has anyone ever realized how similar Abby and Hunter are?

I absolutly love this family! I like how in "Logan Buron, Boy Baby-Sitter" Logan can dectect the feelings of his sister. It shows how close they are.

They do seem like a good family, but I prefer the Pikes. I really like Kerry and how she stands up to the bully in one of Logan's books.

Kerry befriended the bully EJ at the end of LB, Boy Baby-Sitter because she "didn't like to see anyone except Hunter cry". That made me laugh. I love it when they imply that some of the siblings didn't get along all the time.

I thought that Kerry had some slight issues in Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger that were never really addressed (except for "oh, she got new friends"). Although she wasn't too bad, since she didn't abuse or mistreat Tigger.
Hunter's allergies were annoying to read. The Abby came along and Lerangis had a field-day with her allergy talk. It was cool at first and then got annoying - to me at least - after a few books. Hunter reminds me of a Hobart boy on the cover of Search for Tigger but then they look completely different on Logan's books (Boy Babysitter, for example).

Has anyone ever realized how similar Abby and Hunter are? Old post but I realized that too! I was rereading and hearing both of their allergy talks.

Maybe Abby should have taken him under her wing like Stacey and Charlotte and Mary Anne and Jenny.

Maybe Abby should have taken him under her wing like Stacey and Charlotte and Mary Anne and Jenny. Perhaps Abby wanted to, but maybe Lyman made her uncomfortable also. Poor Kerry, I do feel bad for her...she and Hunter seem isolated from other kids their age, which is why the Bruno family probably has hidden issues. It's part of why I just started a fanfic where Kerry becomes pregnant at fourteen and turns to the BSC fir help, terrified of Lyman finding out.

I know this is a thread for Hunter and Kerry but wondered if anyone had thoughts on Mr. and Mrs. Bruno - do they have first names? ;D - Mr. Bruno has always seemed like a domineering type while Mrs. Bruno seems kind of quiet and submissive. Sometimes I wonder if this influences Logan's behavior towards Mary Anne, especially his overbearing tendencies. For some reason, I can never see Mrs. Bruno standing up to her husband the way Mrs. Pike did in Poor Mallory - or maybe giving him a "talk" would be a better way of putting it ;D - or Stacey's mom when she's fighting with Ed or even being on equal ground with him like I see with Elizabeth, Sharon and the other moms. Maybe this is just my perception so I was wondering if anyone else had thoughts on the Bruno parents. Agreed one zillion percent, Aln1982!!!! Yes, thank you!!!! Lyman is rather domineering...I'll never forget Mary Anne being shocked by Lyman's unilateral decision to ship Logan off to boarding school without consulting Louise or the rest of the family. Even when Mary Anne finds Tigger hidden with Kerry, the Bruno parents first talk about "punishing" Kerry. That's why I see the Bruno kids heading for trouble as they grow older...running away, teen pregnancy or/and trouble with the law. Also...I think poor Hunter's allergies are worse than Abby's, though. Abby only has her allergies sometimes while Hunter seems constantly stopped up. No wonder Mary Anne's sensitive heart hurts for Hunter. Lyman and Louise really needed to look into allergy shots and allergy treatments instead of just leaving Hunter to suffer because the sort of multiple allergies that Hunter has can be life-threatening. Maybe Lyman figured...and convinced the rest of the family...that either Hunter would naturally "outgrow" his allergies or that Hunter's allergies were "just a minor thing" the way some people write off the flu, measles and covid. π©π©π©π©π©π©π©π©π©π©π©π©π©
