i wrote a fan fic with byron in it and he wasn't gay he was just sorta punkish, with black nails and in some weird band. but not gay! anyway... i think claire's my fave. i too always had a soft spot for lil nicky... i felt bad for him, poor kid least fave would be margo... peeling bananas with her feet? barfing every 12 seconds? she just seemed disgusting to me.

I voted for Margo because I feel sorry for her. She had no character development beyond puking a lot.

I feel sorry for Margo as well. It must suck having car sickness. Hopefully, she'll outgrow it as she gets older.

i voted for byron. he had so much potential and towards the end he started becoming byron, instead of "the gay triplet." i like how he agreed to room with nicky.

^ I don't think he is gay either, just because he's sensitive.

I don't think he is gay, and I just love sensitive guys. I voted him and I also like him and charlotte together.

I picked Claire. She's adorable.

I picked Nicky I always had a soft spot for him, and I hated the way his parents would let the triplets walk all over him.
As for least favourite I would have to go for Claire - I just found her more annoying than cute.
Poor Margo I know how she feels at her age I couldnt even get out of the driveway without feeling sick and although I have grown out of it to some extent there are times even now (and im 23) that I get carsick.

I felt badly for Nicky, too. However his parents should have "interferred" at least a little early on. In #9, Mrs. Pike basically tells Dawn that Nicky is "going to have to learn to deal with this." Overall I am a Pike parent fan but not in that case.
Vanessa, I am liking more this re-read around. I just finished "Mallory and the Mystery Diary" and really liked her late night talk with Mal. I wish the two of them had had more of those chats instead of Mal always dismissing Vanessa for being "spacey or lost in her own world of poems."
Claire, annoyed me a little, too. I may be in the minority but I don't "buy" that at age 5 she'd be calling everyone "a silly billy goo goo," so often. At 2 or 3 yes, 5 not so much.
Poor Margo, was never given much of a personality aside from getting motion sick and every now and then being bossy.
The triplets...it's too bad they were never seperated into 3 different people. I don't care either for the Byron=gay speculation or fics. I thought, like a lot of you, it was awesome that at times he had a seperate personality from being a "triplet." I know CourtK, (has anyone talked to her)?, would be happy to hear me post I do still envision Jordan Pike growing up to be very handsome. In a way Adam was sort of like a more dominant Margo: bossy or just thrown in as being another Pike kid.

I like Byron and Vanessa. Her poems were funny and cute sometimes. Then I like how Byron stepped up to help his siblings with homework in the ff series.

Claire, of course! Yeah, her catchphrase “silly billy goo goo” does get pretty old but sounds endearing. She sounds so cute and funny and playful. She’s definitely my #1 favorite Pike kid.
My #2 would be Vanessa. I like the poems she makes up and she kind of seems like a mini Mallory to me and you guys know that Mallory is my favorite sitter!

I think if I was to choose out of all the Pikes, either Vanessa or Byron. I think my choices really depend on the ghostwriters. Ann wrote Vanessa pretty sympathetically. She was the least annoying Pike, and the one Mallory herself was closest to, sort of the "only sane one" in a group of crazy ones. Yes, she kept speaking in rhyme, but that's not exactly the most annoying trait, and she could sometimes be persuaded not to rhyme everything. The two younger girls tended to annoy me a bit. Margo was usually okay, but she and Claire together were unbearable at times. Claire was pretty cute, but still annoying. I also didn't like the triplets together. They were basically obnoxious boys. I think Byron started standing out as the sensitive triplet around the time of "Boy-Crazy Stacey". I also really liked his character in "The All-New Mallory Pike" where he was the only one not bothering about the Room Wars and his agreement to share a room with just Nicky was what ended that argument. I remember he complained that Jordan and Adam were acting really immature, which was ironic because they said Nicky was babyish and he wasn't really. As for Nicky himself...I guess he just never really stood out. Weird, because he was that overlooked middle child - the only younger boy who wanted to be one of the guys and always tried to tag along with the older kids, but never really got the chance to.
I will say, I liked the triplets a lot more in later books, when they started trying to babysit. Some did better than others, but I remember that in the last chapter of book #98, Mallory said that they might as well have not had Jessi over as a sitter, because the triplets were acting mature enough to not need sitters. It seemed to me as if they were sometimes mature enough to babysit, and sometimes immature enough to need sitters. I think if all the other Pikes were out, the triplets could be trusted to stay home alone.
