Well, I guess the age gaps don't really matter to them. I mean, Sharon (Great Romance) looks so much younger than Richard (Family Feud).

I think that's just the drawing, though. In the books, Sharon and Richard should be the same age, or at least within a year... They graduated from the same class.

^ yeah, they were both 42 when MA and Dawn originally got them together. Sharon had her 43rd birthday in MA and the Great Romance. Yay for continuity.
Considering she'd spent more than half her life in California away from Granny and Pop-Pop, it's strange that she'd want to return to Stoneybrook where her parents are really her only connection. But plenty of things in the BSC don't make sense so I'll leave it there.

And then you think about them, and they make even *less* sense...

Yeah, there's really not much realistic stuff in these books. And when I can't find the unrealistic stuff in them - some of you will. I love these boards

I'm thankful too. Before these boards, I usually just try to gloss over the unrealistic stuff.

Sam must really go for the younger girls. In Stacey's Big Crush (I think it was that one), he takes another middle school girl to the dance after Stacey breaks their date. I thought he was embarrassed to go out with Stacey because of her age. Guess he got over it or had different thoughts about a different girl.

Yeah maybe it's a Thomas thing though... Charlie gets completely turned on by 13 year old Tasha Hoyt in Stacey and the Mystery Money, here's an exact quote - "Charlie had been staring at Tasha. Obviously he though she was something special. Now he blushed... Kristy turned to Charlie as the Hoyts were talking and nodded towards the door. But Charlie was still staring at Tasha." A senior in high school perving over a 8th grade middle schooler!

Was about to comment on that same thing! I just read another thread that mentioned it and need to reread the book but do remember being disturbed by it at the time.

Gross! Sam and Charlie are creepy. It's one thing for Sam to be interested in 13 year olds, but for Charlie it's almost illegal!

I recently read Claudia and the Disaster Date, and she has a party at the end of the book. Everybody at the party is thirteen years old (which is another weird thing that I didn't think about until right this second -- what happened to her seventh-grade friends?) except for... Charlie Thomas! He drives Kristy and Abby to the party and decides to stick around.

Wow! Charlie always made me feel a bit uncomfortable for some reason. I guess my feelings were correct.
