Dawn says in "Mary Anne and The Great Romance" that Sharon is 43. She always seemed so much younger to me with all her crazy scatterbrained behaviors. She's TOO scatterbrained. I read in "Mary Anne + 2 Many Babies" that Mary Anne once found her sweater in the freezer. That's pretty weird. Sharon's my favorite Mom in The Baby Sitters Club books though.

Yeah, I'm pretty scatterbrained (no matter how hard I try to leave my keys in the same place so I can find them, somehow I always lose them. Or my wallet. Or my shoes. Or the phone number book. Or the thing I was just writing notes on. Or the pen I was just using...) but I've never left clothing in the refrigerator. Sharon seemed a lot more realistic in Dawn and the Impossible Three, where she was leaving the house with a price tag on her skirt, a rubber band around her wrist and only one earring in. It eventually got to the point where you'd wonder if she was mentally ill.

Yeah, I liked the subtlety of rubber bands and price tags better than "OMG she leaves magazines in the fridge and casseroles in the bathroom closet! She's soooo scatterbrained!"

I've lived with people who have left the strangest things in the fridge/freezer. Example: keys, remotes, barbie dolls, sunglasses. I don't really get how that is possible, but I guess if you have something in your hand, and then you go dig through the fridge... people who aren't anal, like me, are likely to leave whatever is in their hand in the fridge/car trunk/freezer/pantry.... but I have been known to run around my apartment in a panic looking for scarves and mittens in the morning. Also, I find hair ties in the strangest places.

Today I found some cheese that needs to be refrigerated in the pantry. It was previously in the refrigerator (luckily it was still cold, so it was not there long). I immediately thought of Sharon.

I leave hair ties everywhere--you never know when you need one!
What really grossed me out was when Sharon left her shoe in the vegetable drawer. Ew!

^ That was gross. I have been known to put things in the fridge that should go in the cabinet and visa versa, though. ;D

I just had a very "Sharon" moment and put a dr pepper on my desk (not where I wanted it) and the book from my other hand in the fridge. ;D So I can see how she does things like this, just not quite so frequently. I have been cleaning up all day and my brain is fried from clearing out "Sharon like" clutter. ;D I think it's time to read a good BSC book about her. What ones are your favorites? I always enjoy reading about her and MA's relationship. She seems like a great stepmom - very supportive and caring.

I do things like that occasionally, too, but, seriously, a shoe in the vegetable drawer? I tend to carry things around with me for no good reason, and occasionally leave them in the wrong places, but Sharon seemed more like a person with Alzheimer's, hoarding things in weird places.

There's some tension between Richard and MA because he starts being overprotective again due to the fire and Sharon is really supportive of MA, i think.

^ Thanks. I haven't been able to bring myself to read the FF (don't like change and the idea of the club ending and no Mal and Jessi, who are my favorites ;D) but now maybe I'll have to try them.

i would recommend the mary anne ones: mary anne's big break up, mary anne's revenge, and welcome home, mary anne. they really focus more on what is going on with the schafer-spier family than stuff like stacey and claud's feud. so if you're not too sure about ff, i would at least suggest these ones, especially if you really like the family stuff.
