I don't think it's that weird-- twins occur in one out of every 80 births, and they're getting more common (don't ask how I know that). It is very weird that most of them are identical, though--fraternal twins are way more common. Probably the fertility drugs making them more common. Anyway, I thought the strangest thing was more the number of identical twins/triplets since most I know are fraternal. I had forgotten about the Salem twins before reading this thread but loved them and wished the sitters would have sat more for them. They sounded so adorable - I always love reading about the babies

This made me think of something really weird. I went to a high school with around 200 people per grade and can think of at least three sets of people who had the same first and last names. (I don't know about middle names, but I hope they didn't match because that would be creepy and annoying if I was one of those people.) Two girls were named Sara Stevens and Sarah Stephens, but the other two sets were spelled exactly the same way. None of them were the same age, so if someone got called to the office over the intercom they'd have to say what grade they were in, like "Sara Stevens, freshman, please come to the office."
There was also a guy who was the middle child in between identical twin older brothers and identical twin younger sisters. I wasn't friends with him, but apparently he had some issues cause he didn't have a twin. Aw.

I don't remember them, but I recall boy twins being mentioned; I think it was in Logan Likes Mary Anne! when she's looking around the cafeteria and sees the Shillaber girls sitting with them.

^Three sets of twins named Joshua and Jacob? Now THAT is weird. I hope your class was about 700 people. Haha, no 300. Close enough though We also had 2 Ashley Marie Shultze's .....same grade too. They'd often get each other's report cards and stuff in the mail....one was super smart and got grounded for having bad grades when she got the other girl's report card.

Wow, we never had many people with the same both first and last name. I remember in the 7th grade though, we had almost 500 people, and then there were two people with the same first name and the same last name. They were in the same class, too! And one was a boy and the other one was a girl (you'd spell their first names a little differently, but they were pronounced the same way)

One was a boy (actually Samuel) and the other a girl (Actually Samantha) but both went by Sam.

Hmm thinking about all the twins now is kind of odd. I mean Stoneybrook is teeny, I graduated with over 800 people in my class and I only remember 4 sets of twins (myself and my sister included). Then again, I didn't know everyone in my class as it was so huge so maybe I missed some. I think it's funny how all the twins have names starting with the same letter (triplets not included, obviously). Mariah and Miranda, Abby and Anna, Terry and Tasha, Ricky and Rosie... I think me and my sister (Kristen and Kari) were the only twins I knew with matchy names. Oh wait I knew a Jason and Jeremy too... hmm. I blame my mom for trying to be cutesy - her and my aunt are twins and they are named Kathy and Kay.

I find it really annoying when twins have matching names or names that start with the same letter. Everybody tried to get me to name my boys like that, but there was no way I would have done that.

Hmm, now to think about twins.. In my entire life I don't know a single twin.. Besides the ones on the television/books (Of course..)..
Oh the brothers of my former classmate were a twin though..

Gracie, what are your twins named? I agree with you, I don't like the matchy-names thing at all. Even though I have a matchy-name with my sister!
