I read this book last almost a year ago. I am sorry for the double post but lol at least it has been awhile. I just reread because this book is on one of the top bookshelves and accessible. I still have the long folding table blocking the cases--that will be gone in a couple days, hooray. Anyway. I still would have loved had David Michael somehow been able to go on the trip. I'm not a big Maxie fan but it was sweet of her to also have a gift for Karen (markers) and it was nice how happy she was to see her. The best part for me was at the end when Karen gave DM his three dinosaurs and DM gave Karen one of them back. I wish there had been a few more minutes to that scene of the two of them talking.

I'm reading this book. Borrowing it from the library, the book is missing pages of 41-42. First time reading this book. I want know what happens on page 41-42. The suspense is killing me. David Michael is mad at Karen.

KD.docx (52.45 KB) I hope this worked Buttercup and that you enjoy the rest of the story. Does anyone know how to attach the actual book page? I scanned but the file was too big. I didn't know how to shrink it, I uploaded to Shutterfly, cropped and then copy/pasted into Word and attached onto here that way. Thanks

If you uploaded it to shutterfly, just paste the link to the file.

Thank you, Zoar. I did enjoy the book.
David Michael is a jerk, in this book. Complain about Karen having the same dinosaur as he has. It's not his dinosaur to begin with. Don't why they couldn't share. Love it when they went to centeral park for lunch.
The only big trip we went to, was the Ohio zoo. But, that was 4th grade or 5th grade. Mostly second grade, field trip was around in Michigan. The Ohio trip, my parents volunteer to help out.

There was a lot going on in this one. Pen pals, field trip, dinosaurs galore. I've never been into dinosaurs. I think because I can't pronounce anything. When I look at them now, so many look so similar. (That goes with many animal groups. A cow looks similar to an ox and a buffalo.) I felt badly for David Michael and his write-a-report special assignment. Karen's class had fun assignments. I think they would have learned more from the Hall of Fame project since they were researching many dinos rather than focusing on one. I would have been more stressed out by the wanted posters because I am no artist. I thought it was funny that the girls had a dino who was actually known for a "crime" (bird stealing). The school took a charter bus. Karen said it was a 2 hour ride. Mmmkay. When I was in school we went to Milwaukee, which is also about 2 hours. We rode in regular yellow buses and stopped to pee at McDonalds. Maxie brought a lettuce and tomato sandwich to lunch. I read that and immediately went WTF. Then there was a whole chapter about lunch, and all the girls were trading bits of their lunches back and forth. Nobody wanted that sandwich. I have never heard of this ornitholestes dinosaur that Karen, Maxie, and David Michael picked. It looks like this. I dig the fancy fringe on the arms but not the weird chicken feet.

I was SO into dinosaurs in the second grade. We watched really cool videos and did fun projects on them. Ugh, those were the days.

We watched The Land Before Time in school. I thought it was awesome, but that was the extent of my dinosauring.
