To borrow a line from the movie "Waiting....."
Trying to choose the best Jessi book is like trying to choose the smartest kid with Down's Syndrome. In the end, it don't matter 'cause they're still retarded.
Yep- I am perfectly aware that I am going to hell.
But, when I was a kid I would have to say that Dance School Phantom was my fav- although now it leads to many WTF?! moments.

^If you're going to hell for that, I'm scared for what my hatred for Danielle "I Have Cancer So I Wreck Cars" Roberts means for my afterlife.
Reading Dance School Phantom now, I think it's hilarious how Dawn catcalls that random guy when they are going to Jessi's dance school. (That is in this book, right?) It's an even weirder WOMEN CAN DO ANYTHING MEN CAN DO than Stoneybrook's female meter readers and great-niece of the first American female brain surgeon, or whoever that relative of Hannie Papadakis was.

I know this isn't a popular opinion but I like "Jessi's Wish". Not the Jessi parts though, I thought it was very interesting to hear about what the other girls were doing. I wish we'd been able to read about their experiences.
Other than that "Jessi's Big Break" even though it wasn't very realistic.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't have a chapter about Stacey talking to the diabetic kids. I think that would have been interesting.

I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but I laughed out loud at this. If you took the Jessi parts out of all of her books, I bet they'd be a lot more liked throughout the fandom!

I'm probably alone but I kind of liked Jessi's Wish - maybe because I can sympathize with Danielle (no, I don't have cancer

Well sort of. Ok no not really. I just meant that the Kid's Club parts were less interesting than the other sitters' experiences and I wanted to read more about them.

Jessi's Big Break is mine. I liked the group of New York kids.

I liked Dance School Phantom and Awful Secret the best.
And while I didn't like Jessi and the Superbrat, I did think that the part where Derek was snooping on the other dancers' gossiping was pretty funny. :-p

I like Jessi's Wish purely because it was my first BSC book. But I agree, it would have been great to hear more about the other girls' experiences - didn't we get two chapters of Kristy with the day care kids? Or did it just feel like two? I thought the brain-damaged kid sounded more interesting than a fussy baby and a bratty kid who couldn't keep his hands on his own finger painting, but, whatever, ghostwriters.

I didn't realize this was a thread before someone started the poll. ;D Anyway, I agree with Mckay and really like Jessi's Wish. I also love Troublemaker and pretty much all the other Jessi books (except Horrible Prank and Awful Secret) Just thought I would bump the thread in case anyone wanted to read some older thoughts on Jessi books. Sometimes these give me a new perspective. ;D
