i totally agree. the brunos have a very traditional, 1950s family vibe. hate mr. bruno.

^ I don't like him, either. Or Mrs. Bruno but I really like Hunter and Logan and Kerry's okay.

I like Mrs. Bruno! Mr. Bruno is a bit over the top but I think he is a softy on the inside. He wants what is best for his kids. I just finished 'Mary Anne to the Rescue' and the thought of Hunter and Kerry running to meet their father and giving him hugs and kisses at the end to me means that they are not afraid of their father and that he likes the affection his kids give him...a big softy on the inside.

I don't think the kids are afraid of him or that he's scary at all. I just see him as very old fashioned when it comes to his treatment of women. There are lots of guys who are like that and still great guys and nice but a little dominant where their partners are concerned. Not abusers or anything but make the decisions, etc, and the women let them. That's how I see the Brunos' relationship.

me too, aln. plus logan said that the only reason that his dad was ok with logan being in the bsc was that he thought logan was only in it to spend more time with mary anne. i think mr. bruno definitely instiled in logan the need to be in charge.

I don’t think Logan was attracted to MA because she is shy and he thought he could dominate her (I think this has been mentioned as a theory). From what I saw in his chapters of BSC Remembers, he was “drawn” to her before he even knew she was shy. I know how it is to be “drawn” to someone for no good, rational reason. I think this is what it was with Logan and MA. Physically, I think he might be more attracted to Stacey and interest-wise, to Kristy, but for some reason, he was “drawn” to MA. This is just the way I perceive it, though. I really like Logan. With a few exceptions, he seems like a great guy and a really good sitter and brother. This is one of the things that makes me like him so much since I have a soft spot for guys who are good with kids. ;D

^I agree aln. I think also that after he got to know Mary Anne he really liked the fact that she was a hopeless romantic, sweet, well-natured (for the most part), and smart. I also really like Logan and honestly think he jerky behaviours came out of no where to give the books a good plot.
I also love when guys are good with children! I never noticed it in my own boyfriend until we took a group of 13 kids Christmas caroling one year and he let them climb all over him and played tag with them and was so sweet.

^ I don't see that kind of humor but can see where you wouldn't like him. Personal perception. ;D Who would you like to see MA with? Just curious for other perspectives.

all that stuff about dawn gathering nuts with squirrels and lame jokes like that.
i actually really like cary and ma, but i'm only basing it off of ff. i think you're not a big cary fan, right aln?
i think ma needs a guy who is more sensitive than logan but also more willing to take a stand--logan falls prey to the peer pressure of the badd boyz and his father's expectations. out of the boys in the series... hmm. Maybe Charlie Thomas, actually. He seems really thoughtful except in that book with Angelica. Most of the guys at SMS weren't really given much of a personality, so it's hard to think of anyone.

^That would be interesting to see Mary Anne and Charlie as a couple.

^ Agree about some of those jokes. I must just try to overlook those. ;D Charlie and MA would be interesting but grosses me out, for some reason (the whole big brother/sister impression in my mind) But I do like Charlie. ;D I also would have liked MA with Pete - at least the way he was in MA Misses Logan.

I think Pete asked MA out in ff but she wasn't ready to date yet.

^Maybe she would come around eventually. I had a similar experience with my husband. We were friends long before we were a couple. When he first asked me out I had just gotten out of a long(and bad)relationship. I wasn't ready at first but later on he asked again. We've been together almost 4 years and married for 15 months. You never know what will happen. ;D
Sorry for the life history ;D
