Suppose I'd better get this one out there... even though I don't really think of Abby as a true BSC-er, maybe because I'd stopped reading them obsessively before she joined. I don't really know a whole lot about her, but what do you guys think of her character?

I like her. She reminds me of Kristy, but less anal and more funny. She annoys me in some books (Abby and the Bad Sport, Stacey's Broken Heart, parts of Abby's Twin), but overall, I like her. She's like a breath of fresh air.

I fell in luv with Abby after reading her portrait collection. The one thing I really liked about her was that she wasn't afraid to challenge Kristy. And she wasn't perfect, she had her b*tch moments (Abby's Twin), but overall she was funny and smart. She replaced Claudia as my favorite towards the end.

I really liked Abby in the books. As you guys have pointed out, she did have some b*itchy moments, but don't we all? I liked how she had a twin and that they were so different from each other. I think her character added to the diversity of the series. I liked how they had her Bat Mitzvah. That was a really interesting book. Geni

I kind of wished Anna would have joined, got some books, then left or something.

i thought abby was pretty cool, loved how funny she was and how there was a little bit of rivalry between her and kristy.

^I remember reading Kristy's Worst Idea and Abby kicked ass. She really stood up to Kristy and struck me as the most normal of the group, somehow.

My favourite Abby books are actually her mysteries... I think she got some great ones. Secret Society, Mystery Baby and Notorious Neighbour are some of my favourite mysteries.

I have to admit I have never read an Abby book. I stopped reading the series long before she was introduced, and I was SHOCKED when I found out that they'd let a new girl join the club! I had an irrational disliking towards her for the longest time, but now I'm really looking forward to reading her books. I'm re-reading and collecting the series in order, though, and it's slow going. I'm on book #51, so unfortunately I've got awhile until I can get to know Abby. (I do have her portrait collection sitting on my shelf, but I can't bring myself to read it prematurely! I have to wait until I have all of the portrait collections, and until she is introduced in the regular series.)

I haven't ever read an Abby book, Im in the same boat as hitzpink. I stopped reading BSC books before Abby was introduced and am just now getting back into them. I'm still quite fuzzy on how all that comes about, but I'll find out when I get there! I do, however, remember hearing somewhere that there was a new BSCer with a twin and I thought that was pretty cool, cause I'm a twin, but I didn't care enough to actually read the books, I think I was too old at that point. Not that you're really EVER too old to read BSC right

I don't know if I'm being harsh, but why does Abby keep talking so much when she is having a bout of allergies? She's walking around talking with that extreme lisp or whatever it's called. I dunno. It gets annoying.

It's just a stuffy nose, I think. She's allergic to a crapload of things so at any given moment her sinuses might close up.

For some reason, I've never liked her. It seemed to me like she was this extra character added in to give the series a bit of a boost after it had jumped the shark. C'mon. A 'name the twins' contest? Although she bugged Kristy, so that was a plus.

Like I said in the other thread, I never liked her. I thought she was annoying, and plus I didn't like how she was the "Cousin Oliver" type character brought in to save the series, like fluffy said.
