I love this relationship too. I've had a theory for a while that Kristy will take Brewer as her surname sometime during high school.

^ Agree. I wonder how Patrick would feel about that but I doubt he'd care.

^I agree. He doesn't even send Kristy and her brothers simple birthday cards.

I like that idea, firecausesburns. Like Patrick shows up one more time promising the world and once again falls through, but Watson is there to pick up the pieces and Kristy realizes that even though Patrick is her father, Watson is really her dad.
Aw, I'm getting all warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it.

I think an interesting fan fic could be a showdown between Watson and Patrick, with Watson blasting Patrick for the way he treated Elizabeth and the kids.

^ That would be awesome. ;D I can see Patrick not really caring but not wanting to let go of his claim to "his" kids just to be a jerk. I think he would eventually cave but would cause some real problems first and it would probably ruin any chance (not that he hasn't already done that ;D) of a relationship with any of his kids.

Hmmm....I never thought of Kristy taking Watson's name. Interesting thought....

I really enjoyed Kristy and Mr. Mom,when she called 911 and shouted about her "dad" having a heart attack. I absolutely love that part! I love moments like those between Kristy and Watson. They seem very natural, too. I agree.

I always thought it was so nice how Watson shared Kristy's interest in baseball (though this wasn't just to please her - he was actually a fan) I think having something so important to her in common with him (I think he also took more interest in it than before because of her - to have something to share with her) really helped them bond.

That's one of the reasons I liked Kristy At Bat so much, even though I don't usually like books about sports.

I just reread Baby-Sitters at Shadow Lake for the first time since I was a kid, and I love how the best thing about the house and the vacation was, for Kristy, when Watson referred to her as his daughter in the letter to his relatives.
