I always like Stacey's sarcastic and subtle humor as well. I like how it's not always right there in your face.

Happy Birthday, Stacey! I guess I should have read a "Stacey" book this morning in her honor

I didn't know it was her birthday yesterday, and I DID read a Stacey book! Let's see...she would have turned 12 in April of 1986, which would make her 33 in real life. Since this is the BSC we're talking about, happy 13th, Stacey!

Wow, 33! I wonder what she'd be doing right now. I can imagine Stacey as someone who has a lot of trouble turning 30...

^ Nah, she'd still be hot, and she'd know it.

Oh Stacey'd be the mom who tried to be super cool and bff's with her kids... then when her son is 16, she'd be in trouble for like, seducing his friends.

After her house (it was built in 1795!) burned down in The Fire at Mary Anne's House, she and Richard and Sharon were renting the Goldmans' house while their barn, which did not burn down, was being renovated to live in. They moved into their barn-turned-house in Welcome Home, Mary Anne.

Oh Stacey'd be the mom who tried to be super cool and bff's with her kids... then when her son is 16, she'd be in trouble for like, seducing his friends. I think this is an accurate prediction. Another thought on Stacey after reading Aloha Baby-Sitters... Anyone ever notice how she never seems to dress appropriately in Super Specials? In Snowbound, she refuses to wear warm clothes to the mall and in Hawaii she gets blisters on her feet after the plane crash because of the shoes she has on. Always suffering for the sake of fashion I tend to go with Kristy's approach of dressing for comfort.

That makes me laugh, Stacey is totally the kind of girl who would wear a miniskirt in the winter just so she could look good. I guess what she doesn't realize is most people are secretly mocking the ones who do that.

Does it seem to anyone else like Stacey comes up with a lot of the plans to "solve" the clients' problems? In Dawn and the Surfer Ghost, she has the idea to help the Arnold twins get over their need to be joined at the hip and I know there have been other times when she's thought up solutions. I am liking Stacey more now than I did when I was a kid - with the exception of Stacey vs. the BSC but in that one I "love to hate" her

She also did the "Taming of the Snobs" thing with the Delaney kids. I loved how they continued to see her as weird, I think there was a callback to it in a later book.
Just curious, does anyone have some examples of the sarcastic/subtle humor that you guys are talking about?

^Yeah, I'm wondering about that too. I've never thought of Stacey as particularly funny at all.
