The BSC's behavior in Claudia and the New Girl was far worse IMO.
Okay, Claudia temporarily ditched the BSC (because, you know, it's a criminal offence to have an outside interest) but I'll admit she went a little overboard, standing Stacey up at the mall etc. HOWEVER... whether they were pissed or not, they had no right to virtually trash Claudia's bedroom and eat all her food.
Also, didn't Claudia's parents think it was a little... off... that her friends were hanging out in her room without her?

"Hi! Who are you!"
That's why I can't stand Claudia. When I was younger I thought she was kind of cool, always wanted to know what she was wearing, but now? Yuck! I can't stand her. She's so BLAH. She has no personality. Kristy is bossy, Stacey is snobby, MA is sweet/emotional, Dawn is laid back, etc but what is Claudia? She's artsy, yeah, but she has no real personality.
I think its weird that they're all THE TOTAL BEST OMGZ at everything they do. Jessi and ballet, Claud and art, Kristy and sports.
I never understood how she had so much junk food all the time but I thought it was totally cool and always wanted to hide tons in my room

I wonder what the others are the best at... Mary Anne and Dawn don't seem to have any talents beyond sensitivity and individuality. It's funny, isn't? How diverse this group is... There aren't two people who are moderately artistic, or three people who like to write... you've got one of everything.

Well, not exactly the same thing, but in Goodbye Stacey, they're making flyers for the yard sale. Claudia writes a poem, and Kristy trashes it. Then she says they should all do what they're good at: she and Dawn=writing, Mary Anne & Stacey=lettering, Claudia=art. Kristy's wasn't all that great either, but I loved Dawn's. Red are the roses Blue are the seas Come buy are junk Please, please, please, please! ;D
Anyway, I think Ann gave each of them a few traits and nothing else. Claudia and Jessi get to be super talented, some of the others get personality extremes.

It just seemed as though the BSC were on a constant winning streak. You know, they couldn't do anything without being the best or at least among the best. Mallory won the writing competition in Mallory on Strike. Jessi won gold in Jessi's Gold Medal. Mallory won a prize in Mallory and the Dream Horse, despite supposedly feeling like a useless klutz. Claudia would've won first prize in the art competition in Claudia and the New Girl if her sculpture had been finished. Jessi was always the lead in every production. The BSC claimed practically all the lead roles in an entire school production.

But Kristy got demoted to second string. I know what you mean though. Don't forget Peter Pan/Wendy/Mrs. Darling...

Oh, and in #101, Claudia's in a college art class where there's a show and she gets first place.
Kristy got demoted to second string, but that wasn't because she sucked at softball. It was because she was cocky and didn't try hard enough. Am I a bad person for chuckling when she got second string?

Oh, and in #101, Claudia's in a college art class where there's a show and she gets first place. LOL Claudia was in a college art class? I haven't read that book yet. I have never really liked Claudia, especially as I got older. I guess as a kid I thought she was kinda cool and liked reading about her outfits, but now she's just boring. And she *is* dumb. I'm sorry, but it doesn't take "effort" to know how to spell basic words. I mean, she even spelled her friends' names wrong at times. If my kid couldn't spell "really" and sent me postcards saying "Hi! Who are you? New Yerk is fun and I'am takeing an art clas!" I'd be doing a LOT more than just having a family member help her with her homework each night!

Claudia and MA also won 1st prize in a baking contest. Claudia's photos of her sandcastle went for 60 bucks (I don't know if that counts).
As for the rest of them - Stacey was good at math led them "to the state championship and broken the individual state scoring record" in Stacey & Math Whiz. MA was good at knitting. She won a quilting contest in MA's Portrait.

Does anyone else think Dawn was Claudia's loaner friend while Stacey was in New York? Not in a "OMG let's try on crazy outfits and gossip about boys cause we're best friends!" way, but just that she seemed to be around the most. Kind of like how Dawn 'filled in' as treasurer, but wasn't all that into it.

Not really... I didn't really notice Claud and Dawn hanging together much without the others. Then again, I haven't read a lot of those books in awhile, so I might be forgetting something.

It always seemed unfair to me how Claudia had to buy all the junk food. And she made a point out of buying something for Dawn and Stacey as well. Why couldn't the girls at least chip in??
