How often does Logan actually babysit? It doesn't seem like he does that much, but he seems VERY familiar with all the clients. Like, no one is surprised or uncomfortable when Logan shows up instead of MA or Kristy or something, they're just like "hiiii Logan!" but I don't see how he could know them all that well if he doesn't sit very often.
This question was inspired by reading Claudia and the worlds cutest baby when he sits for the Arnold girls. I kind of expected them to feel awkward around him, but nope.

^I was gonna bring that point up on the thread for that book but forgot. I thought it was weird. The only Logan sitting jobs that really stick out in my mind were for the Rodowskys, the Hobarts, and the Barrett-DeWitts.

I've never thought of that but that's really weird. But I think we're supposed to believe the girls babysit even more than we see in the book - what we read is just a small part of how much they actually babysit. Of course, that's even more insane.

The way that families talk in Stoneybrook, though, I'm not surprised. Everyone seems to know everyone's business, and if the Rodowsky's liked Logan so much, I'm sure word spread. After that business with Mrs. Barrett in Mary Anne Breaks the Rules, I'm sure people talked.
Plus, they do call the parents to tell them who would be showing up. I suppose if they had a problem with it, they could say something then.

Logan just seems so separate from the rest of the characters though. I guess the thing that struck me as odd is that he was babysitting twin girls. The other families he generally has sat for are full of boys, idk the whole thing just seems weird, cause Logan is supposedly soooo busy but yet he knows every family in town (even though he's only lived there for what, a year?)
Oh, and I didn't mean to say that the families wouldn't WANT Logan to sit for their kids, I just meant that if he didn't know the kids that well, it might be awkward for the kids (especially the Arnold girls who we know like boys!).

They could know him from all the special project/event things the BSC does.

^ Yeah, I agree with ktag. There seems to be a lot of interaction in Stoneybrook, and all the neighbours know each other, so even if he didn't have as many official jobs as the rest of the BSC, I always imagined him still knowing everyone.

Plus they could know him as "Kerry and Hunter's brother". They went to SES, didn't they?

Earlier in the thread we were talking about Logan's controlling tendancies with Mary Anne. It got me wondering what his parents' relationship is like. Maybe they're very old-fashioned in terms of husband & wife and Logan was taught that it is the man's job to protect the woman. It's possible that Logan got some of the behavior he showed in Mary Anne vs. Logan and a few of the other books from watching how his dad treats his mom.

^I always thought this as well. Especially after reading MA to the Rescue, which is one of the few books we see Logan's parents, I think. Logan mentions that his mother usually goes along with whatever his father decides, i.e. his wanting to send Logan to that academy.

His dad does seem to have the "man of the house" attitude. You can tell he loves Logan though- I think he just has a hard time showing it right.

And then there's the fact that Logan's dad was kind of uncomfortable with him being a baby-sitter. It seems like his dad really wanted Logan to be a jock and didn't encourage him to do anything "girly."

^ I think I remember hearing that a long time ago - probably same person who said Kristy and Abby were. ;D I don't think any of them are, though.
