^ She should have read more of them before they were published, I think! I'm sure she probably did. One person can only catch so much. The rest is up to the editors and stuff still get's missed, I'm sure. Yeah, you're right. I'm just thinking that if my characters were being used in stories, I would try to make sure that every little detail about everything was perfect. I don't mind the typos - I mean, those can happen to anyone. I meant the discontinuities. Then again, I guess those can still slip by undetected, but I just figured that she should be the one who would pick up on it, if anyone, you know? Seeing as she created the characters and all. Not saying anything bad about AMM, without her we wouldn't have our lovely BSC books

Not saying anything bad about AMM, without her we wouldn't have our lovely BSC books I actually used to think the exact same thing and get annoyed about the inconsistencies. Then I started realizing that I do the exact same things - just in everyday life. ;D For example, yesterday alone I told someone I was 24 (I'm 25 and a half ;D), called my 15 year old cousin who I'm really close with by the wrong name, spelled my best friend's name wrong (with a y instead of i), and got the date of my dad's birthday wrong (I'm usually very good with dates, too). I think Sharon is rubbing off on me. ;D I didn't realize any of these errors, either, until someone else pointed them out because it's kind of like when I write papers and anything else - the more I read it, the more I "read what I thought I wrote" instead of the actual words that got down on the paper. ;D I know that an author should be more concious of making sure the things are right but they are only human and can only do so much. I can see how writing so many books would get overwhelming, too. Of course, a lot of the inconsistencies later in the series are the fault (I think) of constantly having different ghost writers.... ;D

^ Discontinuities would work, too. ;D I wasn't trying to argue but mostly talking to myself because I used to feel exactly like you until this all dawned on me just recently. ;D I just wanted to explain myself a bit better. ;D Speaking of AMM, has anyone ever written her and gotten a letter back other than a form letter?

I haven't. I wrote to her twice and got a form letter back twice. Although she did add a p.s on the bottom of both letters about what I don't remember exactly.

Has anyone written Ann a letter recently? I wonder how much the format changed, now that she's writing Main Street.
In the bookshelf picture, are those all Baby-Sitter Club Books? That's a big heap of books there!

There are a ton of them. ;D That's cool, Msstock that you at least got a PS. Nothingtolose, I must have been dreaming that you posted on here that you received a really nice personal letter back after writing Ann when you were 13. ;D

I haven't actually written a letter to Ann at all ... I wish I had though, and gotten a reply! ;D

Thanks for the link! It was pretty cool seeing Ann's house like that. I love how she had that oil painting framed! ;D And I'm pretty envious of her BSC collection too. I wonder if she has any BSC memorabilia other than the books? I don't know how much she had to do with any of it, so who knows?

That was a vivid dream, nothingtolose. ;D I've never written AMM either though I've considered it lately. ;D I wonder if she would write back to a BSC fan who doesn't read her current books - probably not. ;D
