Stacey and the Mystery of Stoneybrook - Since this book originally had a different plot outline that changed at the last moment, I have a mental image of poor Ann M staying up all night to finish this one before her deadline. No wonder she gave up writing the BSC in like, ten books. quote] Actually this book was ghostwritten...can't remember by who though

Jessi - Jessi's Gold Medal. Bor-ring! I read that one recently and could not get into it at all. Ellen Miles.

^ Usually I like books by Ellen Miles but Mystery of Stoneybrook was one of my least favorites. I did like it a lot more, though, the last time I read it. I've actually liked all of my least favorites, including Secret of Susan that I just reread and didn't mind this time, much more lately.

I wont comment, cause i haven't read them all, but I will say I have been putting off reading Jessi and the Awful Secret for a week or so now, cause I know I found it boring, and I also remember being bored by Kristy's Worst Idea.

I really didn't care for "The truth about Stacey," But I'm not a big Stacey fan. I couldn't get through "Dawn and the Older Boy", but I will try again someday. Mary Anne's books kind of bore me a little.

Kristy's Worst Idea, because Kristy was so irritating.
Claudia and the Little Liar. Just boring, and the kids seemed out of character.
Stacey and the Cheerleaders. The cheerleading thing came out of nowhere, and the moral of the story seemed to be that athletes, cheerleaders, and popular kids are really jerks.
Mary Anne and Camp BSC. Mary Anne turned into a whiner and the camp wasn't interesting.
Dawn and Too Many Sitters. Don't remember much about this one. I only read it once, so it must not have been very good.
Don't Give Up, Mallory. The idea that a 6th grade class would study children's literature is so farfetched.
Jessi's Big Break. No particular reason.
Abby in Wonderland, with Abby the Bad Sport a close second

I agree stacey and the cheerleaders was boring. The only parts I enjoyed were the first chapter, and the parts about Tiffany Kilbourne.

Kristy: Baby Parade or Dog Trainer
MA: To the Rescue (they really pushed the envelope with this one plus how could even meek MA not tell Dawn off with how she was treating her)?
Stacey: Secret Friend or Fashion Victim. The first because of how patronizingly Stacey treated Tess and the second because, even the subplot (although different) was fairly boring.
Claudia: Mystery in the Painting or Big Party (Too predictable)
Dawn: All of her books except for Ghost at Dawn's House and for some crazy reason I enjoyed DS Undercover Baby-sitter.
Abby: Bad Sport and her part in Aloha BS (when she acts as BSC president).
Mallory: I thought most her books had some saving grace to them...#1 Fan was a little...stalker-ishly boring?
Jessi, poor Jessi, but take your pick! Worst definitely J and the Jewel Thieves and Happy Holiday's Jessi--so, so boring, which was sad because it could have been so good/different.

Dawn - Farewell Dawn (Dawn was hypocritical in this book because in Miss Stoneybrook… and Dawn she said that Jeff was a brat when he wanted to return to California but somehow that doesn't apply to her when she's doing the exact same thing that Jeff did.) Abby - Abby and The Bad Sport Mary Anne - The Fire At Mary Anne's House (I don't like that the house burned down) Mallory - Mallory Hates Boys (And Gym) Jessi - Jessi and the Bad Babysitter Claudia - Claudia's Friend Stacey - Stacey's Choice Kristy - Kristy in Charge

I'm going to have to modify the list I posted a while ago! Kristy: Kristy at Bat & Kristy Thomas, Dog Trainer. I just found them really boring. The former because I'm not into baseball at all and was really disappointed that this was Kristy's last book. The latter because I only read it once, and I really can't remember anything about it, so clearly it didn't hold my attention. Claudia: Truthfully, I'm having a hard time coming up with one. I guess Claudia's Freind Friend. It just didn't resonate with me. Mary Anne: Ah, this one was easy. Maid Mary Anne. I've never finished it, because it seems so boring. Mary Anne is spineless, again, and to me, sewing/knitting is just not something that's interesting to read about. Stacey: Probably Stacey's Ex-Boyfriend. I never liked Robert, and I hate the half-assed approach towards depression - Robert's really down, but after one talk with his coach, he's all better? Dawn: Another easy choice. One of the worst of the entire series was Dawn Saves the Planet. It's so bad on so many levels, and in my opinion, it was the defining moment in which Dawn's personality changes for the worse. I hate saying that, since she was one of my favourites when I was a kid, but I find her so awful in this book that I can barely stand to read it. Abby: Hard to say, since I've really only read a couple of her books, but I didn't like Abby the Bad Sport. I'm just not a fan of sports books, I guess. Jessi: Probably Jessi & The Jewel Thieves. Even though it was probably the most realistic mystery of the series - two kids with overactive imaginations - it was such a cop-out ending that I think I've only read it twice: once as a kid and once a couple of years ago. Plus, Becca was such a brat! I can understand being upset about being away from your family for a weekend, since I was a shy homebody as a kid, but even I wouldn't have acted like that at someone's house. Mallory: I didn't mind it as a kid, but now I think Mallory Pike, #1 Fan is the worst book in the series. It just...doesn't make sense. I think 3_foot_6's snark on the LJ community captures everything wrong with the book, so I recommend checking that out. It's pretty much exactly how I feel!

I agree with you in that Dawn's personality changes for the worst after this book. I don't know why Ann/the ghostwriters made her really selfish and annoying following this book, even if it was unintentional.

Some of these I haven't read in 7+ years, so my memory is a little fuzzy, but...
Kristy's Worst Idea Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger Claudia and Mean Janine Stacey and the Mystery of Stoneybrooke Dawn Saves the Planet Jessi Ramsey, Pet Sitter Mallory and the Mystery Diary Abby's Twin - that was the one where Anna is diagnosed with scoliosis, right? I love Abby, but geez I wanted to smack her all throughout that book
