Has anyone been to his website and looked at some of his art? He's actually pretty good. It makes me wonder what he was doing illustrating BSC covers for so long! I could have done without the nudie pictures, though. It's hard for me to imagine the guy who did the BSC covers also doing nude art. www.hodgessoileau.com

Well, he did tend to draw the girls as twenty-year-old "schoolgirls," often looking somewhat provocative. Just sayin'.

Is it wrong that some of them make me think of BSC members?

Actually no, because in all seriousness I saw a picture of a girl on that website ( clothed) and her face kind of reminded me of Dawn.

I saw one that looked just like Mary Anne would look grown up. I'm just glad SHE was dressed, too.

And I suddenly find it creepy imagining him drawing covers like California Girls and all the other beach ones.

I'm not convinced he didn't have a ghost artist, if there is such a thing, on some of the covers. Some of them have a different look to them and not just that the girls faces look different.

I think he should have found more ways to incorporate himself on the covers, like the way he posed for Mallory's Christmas Wish. That would have been amusing.

He posed for Mallory's Christmas Wish? What's this? I don't have this book so I can't look at it...

That's so cool! I would totally put myself in some of the covers if I were an illustrator.

Now I'm picturing him like Where's Waldo on the covers. He could be hiding under Claudia's bed in Kristy's Great Idea or in a pile of leaves in Mallory on Strike.
