and it's unlikely that everyone would be home to call the BSC by 6:00. And since there weren't cell phones back then, we have to assume that parents were calling from their houses. Well the moms often did the calling and it seemed to me that many of them were stay at home moms. Mrs. Pike, Mrs. Barrett, Mrs. Ramsey, Sharon, and Elizabeth worked, but I can't really recall if most of the others did--Mrs. Rodowsky? Mrs. Prezzioso? Mrs. Marshall? Mrs. Newton? Mrs. Arnold? etc. ITA. I am all for that method and I would not have looked forward to writing out my sitting jobs in detail knowing it was required of me every. single. time.

I wouldn't have minded writing the notebook entries on a computer but it would have taken me forever by hand. No way would I have done it. ;D

The BSC needed a messege board like this. Couldn't you just see it? AMM started making refrences to computers and junk in the later books...so why not?

oh wouldn't that have been fun? They could have created forums for their clients and everything.

The We Love Kids Club didn't make sense to me. They didn't have regular scheduled meetings, but when they DID have meetings, they got phone calls. How did the clients know to call then?

^ I always wondered about that too. The WLKC drove me crazy since I'm a "Kristy" with organization. ;D I always just assumed, though, that the clients called whenever and happened to call during the meetings we read about.

^ But what are the odds of that?! Especially since they held meetings at any one of the three girl's homes ;D

I didn't get it either. I just told myself the parents must have called the girls individually if they really wanted a sitter!

OMG I love "think again, Buckaroo!" as well! But can't remember the book right now. Was that saying really from a TV show?

^ Thanks. I have been trying and trying to remember. I haven't read that one for a while so that's probably why. I might have to reread, though, as I love the Barretts in that one. ;D

I must've been one oblivious kid because I overlooked a lot of stuff that you guys here are mentioning. Either that or you're all very observant. Here's a list, just to make things simple The whole Mallory spaz girl Dawn and her California casual Kristy and her Look Jessi's black Mallory and her love of sparkles the whole Pike Catholic thing (I didn't even get it when it was brought up in book 56) you know, most of the stuff mentioned on this thread I never thought about, although the notebook thing was kind of weird. Until I joined this fandom, I actually took the books seriously!
