My family had rotary phone when I was a kid in the 80's, but it wasn't wall mounted. Also, count me in the pay as you go phone club. I'm not a phone person at all, so it doesn't make much financial sense for me to pay far more for something I rarely use!

I also have pay as you go, but almost everyone does except for people who are fancy businessmen who spend their whole lives on the phone and pay a monthly fee. I pay 25 cents a day to have internet on my phone and then I maybe spend another dollar a week for phone/texting. Cell phone service in the US and any other place with contracts in a racket. Yes, you get a phone for free, but you end up paying more when you pay for your phone monthly. I much prefer saving up to buy the exact phone I want/need, and not having to choose from what a carrier has, that I can use anywhere, with any carrier, and then pay for exactly how much service I use. And if I am dissatisfied with the service, I just throw out the sim card and buy a new one. We can even switch our numbers over now.
My mom doesn't have a cell phone because she doesn't work and very rarely leaves the house. My brother did get her an iPad for her birthday, though.

I always wondered what the point of the crossed out word was. Even if they can't spell, why put it on the cover of the book?

We had a rotary phone well into my memory. (I was born in 1982)

Their lawn is unhealthy looking. So are Archie's jeans. I wonder if they are just ratty hand me downs since they had to roll the cuffs up so big for his legs.

When I was little, I thought Shea was cute on this cover.

I like that Claudia's wearing something she's normally described as wearing. Baggy pants with a belt (although it should be a sash or a rope or something ), and a button down men's shirt. Weird seeing her with a bat and glove instead of Kristy.

Count me in as also not liking the crossed out word. It is a cute picture of Shea and I also like that it captures the two of them talking. Archie's jeans do look rather big and what is on his shoes? Almost looks like part of a flag. I once had a blue work shirt like Claudia's and her necklace reminds me a little of one different bead designs of my Grandma's that I kept. Looking again, is Claud wearing two matching necklaces?

I can't explain why, but when I was little I was SO impressed with the fact that there was a crossed out word in the title. I was like whaaat? They x'd out a word? I've never seen any kind of deviation in font like that!
Shea does look like he'd grow up to be good looking. His purple top and green bottom remind me too much of Ariel.

I think Claudia's outfit is consistent with what she said way back in book #12 - that she'd always wear jeans to sit for the Rodowskys from then on because of having to climb up on the roof.

The Xing out of the misspelled word bothered me a bit because it ruined the continuity of the titles. As for the cover, I like it but it makes Claud seem much more sporty than she actually is, haha.
