Unless the yellow pants have an odd, big folded over waist, it still looks to me like either an extra piece of yellow cloth(ing) or as I said a shirt underneath, I do like their color though, I've become a light/bright yellow fan and those pants do look spring-y in color. ETA: The "extra" yellow also almost reminds me of part of a waist pack. I actually have one in yellow/pink.

Yeah, I would agree that there was a shirt there if there were a shadow on the left. An odd sartorial choice either way--don't match your shirt to your pants and then stick a baggy sweater over it!

I always thought she was wearing flat-front khakis that didn't fit properly. There's no line on the left that would indicate any of the yellow isn't a part of the pants. This is what I always thought, too, although I didn't think they were khakis. They look a little more like sweats, stretch pants/leggings/whatever term you want to use that were old and a bit stretched out. Makes sense that she would wear something like that for yard work.

Yeah, maybe they are a pair of her one of her parents' old pants and that's why they don't fit right.

New cover (not the best image I guess)

I like how dawn and Claudia look on this cover very much how I imagined them.

My favorite BSC book! IRL the border is a dark teal color that I love (though in the picture above it looks navy). I love the mansion. I like that Claudia (and Dawn too) is wearing shorts (skirt?) and a sweater, as that seems appropriate for New England beaches - you wear shorts because you're at the beach, but then at night there's a chill in the air and you want to wear a sweater.

I like the Mansion in the background. The BSC members, Karen & Andrew are scared of the haunted mansion. Also like their outfits.

The house looks too much like the yellow house in #8.

Hmm, I think they're pretty different except that they're both Victorians on the beach/in a seaside town.

Yeah, I don't think the house looks too much like the Sea City one. I used to try drawing this house as a kid, haha.
I think it's a skirt, and like it and wonder if it's part of a dress. I like Claud's sandals too. And also how most of them have long-sleeved tops with short bottoms in summer. I went to Maine in the springtime and it was super cold and windy.
I remember being SO EXCITED when I saw this book for the first time in stores.

I think all the girls look pretty decent on the cover but it looks like Claud decided to borrow one of Janine's outfits.

^Gasps. Janine's clothes was so boring for Claudia. She wouldn't even wore any Janine's boring clothes.

Lol, it really does Boo Boo. I will have to read MA's Portrait one of these days. That book really does show how much Richard loved his daughter. I wish we had gotten to see that more in the BSC books. Thanks for the BSC connection.
