I thought it would be fun to share our favorite BSC quotes...
"If only I were 13 instead of eleven. Life would be a picnic" Mallory (Mallory and the Mystery Diary)
You're liars! And... and dirty businesswomen!" Stacey (The Truth About Stacey)

"Do me a favour. Would you mind staying exactly the same age for a few years until I have a choild old enough to be baby-sat for?"
Ms. Besser in Dawn and the Big Sleepover

Along those lines... "That was back at the beginning of sixth grade. Now I feel as if I've been in Stoneybrook forever, even though I haven't been here long at all." Jessi (Starring the BSC)
Just because it's Claudia... "Ah-ha! I thought. Mrs. Hall was giving us a hidden clue. She used 'famous' and 'pharaoh' in the same sentence. They must begin with the same letter. Now, I'm a terrible speller, but I do know that 'famous' begins with an 'f.' Very slowly, I printed 'f-a-r-o' on my paper. Then, thoughtfully, I erased the 'o' and added another 'r.' At the last moment, I tacked a 'w' on to the end. That looked pretty good. Farrow. I was proud of myself for thinking to add one of those killer silent letters to the word. Who invented them anyway? They're such a waste." (Claudia & the new girl) That girl is a spelling detective!

^OMG I'd forgotten that gem of brilliance. What a freakin dumbass.
I might as well be straightforward (even though I hardly ever am) and say right out that Jessi's family is black Mary Anne (Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger)

Mallory doesn't consider herself pretty. She hates her nose in particular. But I think someday she'll be prettier than anyone imagines and there's so much goodness inside Mallory, that after you've known her awhile, she starts to look pretty Jessi (Jessi and the Awful Secret)
Uh oh. Had I just referred to Cokie as Logan's girlfriend? She couldn't really be. They were just good friends... right? I didn't know. All I knew was that I ached for Logan Mary Anne (Mary Anne Misses Logan)

More from Claudia and the New Girl Yeah, our V.P. used to be very nice, but now she never shows up at meetings and she hangs around with a person who wears BELL-BOTTOM BLUE JEANS to school. (Stacey) Hee. Just wait another decade. Or in BSC land, about 100 books.
The two of them were so busy being smug about the thought of not giving the job to me, that they didn't even bother to hook pinkies and say "jinx." (Claudia) *gasp*
"Listen to us. 'Think lovely thoughts.' Do you know who we sound like? We sound like Peter Pan, that's who. Peter Pan. We are baby-sitters, not magical, flying boys." (Kristy) Spoke too soon.

That pharoah/farrow one is too funny. That's our Claudia, thinking just like how a second grader thinks!
From Dawn and the Impossible Three:
Dawn: What do you think you're doing, Mallory? You'll get your brownie in a minute!

Two Mallory quotes...
from "Snowbound" "I was tiptoeing around the lodge with my journal and I came across Stacey and this boy Pierre she's been spending so much time with. I passed by the doorway to the library and they were in there alone, sitting very close together on the couch. I thought that maybe if I stood outside and peeked at them through the crack in the door, I could find out just what goes on when a boy and a girl kiss (I've been dying to know.)"
and from "Mallory Hates Boys (and Gym)" "Looking down, I tried to think of a way to explain. But all I could do was notice how white Ms. Walden's sneakers were. And what thick ankles she had."

That book also had the classic his voice is starting to change, which is SO COOL notebook entry from Stacey.

I found one, I found one!
From SS #15, European Vacation: (Jessi is talking about what her and Mal have in common) "But the main thing we share is passion. We do things in a big way. Mal is as dedicated to writing as I am about dancing. ... But most of all, we are passionate about baby-sitting.

Kristy: "Bart stay the night at MY house? Was I on a suicide mission?" --Snowbound
That is absolutely classic.
The Kristy-Peter Pan quote has always been one of my favorites. Any time they'd follow up "Oh for heaven's sake, you guys..." with something, it's usually pretty quote-worthy.
I like when Mary Anne asks Claudia in MA and the Bad Luck Mystery if she's noticed the witchcraft books they checked out doing anything like flying around her room at night. And Claudia offers Tootsie-Rolls around and Dawn says none of them will have any teeth when they're 80 if they keep eating them. And how Kristy bellows "MARY ANNE!" at the top her lungs when she got annoyed. SO many snarky moments in that chapter when they're looking through the books in Claudia's room during a storm...
The Stacey-Pierre spying occurs in Winter Vacation, I believe, not Snowbound. And yep, don't know WTF was going on with Mal there.
jenlovesmorelli, LOL that "passion" is in italics!

Kristy: "You know, that song they play at graduations, Pumpin' Circumstance". I don't remember which book this was in... Also, I think Claudia referred to working with a voice coach as "electrocution lessons"...
