i think i filled out the pages once. but i have a question. i believe that the same books that contained the "notebook" pages, also contained a little quiz (that was the same in all books). one of the questions was when does the BSC meet. but there is another question that i always thought was weird that stated: Friends, members of the BSC, What else does mary anne and Dawn have in common? i've always assumed that the answer was that they were sisters but that's not actually something you have in common with someone. (to me a favourite tv show would be something you have in common with someone.) can someone tell me if that is the correct answer to the question or am i overlooking something?

I remember that quiz! I saw it in #99, Stacey's Broken Heart, and I think it was part of some sweepstakes right before the big event of book 100. I always thought that question was weird, but of course assumed the answer was sisters (or stepsisters). It is puzzling, it seems like it might make more sense if you talk about a third sister; SHE would be the one they had "in common". Or whatever. I remember answering all the questions and sending it in. The prizes were like, duffel bags and T shirts. *yawn*

Yeah, I'm guessing the answer is "sisters" because "being friends" is kind of the same thing -- it's not something you really have in common with the other person. Weird.

Sometime recently me and a friend were really bored and decided to fill out a few notebook pages - I filled out the back of Mary Anne Saves the day as Mallory Pike. The more interesting answers were: The place where I read most of this book: Claudia's closet (while spying on the BSC) If I could change anything in this story it might be the part when: Kristy feeds me tuna sandwiches and cold fried chicken If I could write a BSC book it would be about: Me joining and becoming president By helping Jenny Prezzioso Mary Anne saves the day...I once saved the day when: Mom and Dad ran out of condoms(trust me, 8 kids is enough). The rest of it wasn't particularly funny. Laughs, that's great.

I never filled them out because the new-cover styles came out when I was 15 -- maybe I didn't think I was too old to read the books, but I thought I was too old to fill those pages out. I have a few second-hand books where other kids filled them out, though. I've never seen any particularly funny answers, but I don't think I've even looked through them all. Maybe I'll go check out some of them now.

Yeah, I have trouble marking books, too (unless it's something I absolutely will never read again and am marking to review--but when I had literature classes, I hated marking the books I thought I might want to reread!). I was also a little on the old end when the new editions came out to mark them myself, but I get such a kick out of it when I buy a used one and someone else has filled out the pages. I was also totally immoderately excited when I started re-collecting to get enough of the new ones to see everyone's "photo" albums. I love the fake baby pictures so, so much. So glad to hear that I'm not the only one who won't write in books. I hate it that some of my books that I had as a very little kid have my name written in the front (Mom did it

I don't mind marking my name in my books, but that is about it.

I don't like marking anything in my books, not even my name. I didn't even highlight stuff in my textbooks in university.

All of you who hate writing in books would love my eBay-purchased copy of Stacey McGill, Matchmaker?, which not only has the notebook pages filled in, but the front cover written on! Some demon seed wrote "no" after the title in green ink, and also used the same pen to color on Stacey's eyes. Kids these days.

Some kid covered the inside cover of one of my books from ebay with stickers. Made me so mad! I'm like wanderingfrog and won't write anything in my books. I'm also obsessive about not bending the covers or wrinkling the pages.

I kind of do too, Inge. Maybe I like knowing who has read it and trying to put a kid with the name. I like knowing that little kids read the BSC books - better than a lot of the junk that is available now.

hmm I used to put a sticker in the front cover of my books that like, had balloons surrounding KRISTEN in big letters, so I guess the writing in the books doesn't bother me, heh.
