I remember Kristy making a no pet sitting rule after her own experience, and being upset when Jessi wanted to do it in this one. I thought that was kind of rude of her. I mean, I can understand how she wouldn't want it to happen often, but just because SHE had a bad experience, NO ONE could EVER pet sit??? I always hated that.

^ I thought the same thing. That was the same rule I remember. Glad to see I wasn't imagining things (or at least not imagining them alone ;D)

Yeah, I think she made that rule too. But Jessi also ended up plant sitting in Kristy and the Missing Fortune. Jessi gets all the weird jobs.

I forgot about the plant-sitting.

^ I did too. That seemed so weird. That whole book seemed strange to me, though...

For someone so busy, she sure seems to wind up with 'long' term jobs alot.

Maybe she wants the long term jobs so she can show how responsible she is, even if she is eleven and black.

^ Dude, those Ring Dings look SOOOOOOO good!
Topic: I never thought about Jessi having so many long-term jobs, but I guess she did.

^The ironic part is that I haven't had a Ring Ding in ages. I'm more a Mallomar girl now.

Maybe Jessi wanted the long term jobs for more $ so she could buy toe shoes and ballet stuff that she supposedly (in some books only ;D) had to buy herself. $$ always is a good motivator ;D

thats another thing. How can anyone expect an eleven year old to pay for that stuff herself? I understand it would have been very pricey, but come on... 11?

^ Agree. I don't even have to pay for my stuff now ;D The mere thought of all the pets in the house grosses me out whenever I even think of this book....

^ Me too. I really like animals and want to have a cat or two when I'm older, but I couldn't handle all of those pets. The smell would be overwhelmingly disgusting. And all of those rodents? Gah! I would've hated being a pet sitter for the Mancusi's.
I think I've said it before, but the ending of this book is so weird. "Best friends have to talk a lot," or whatever it is. It's so random! It's like Ann really wanted to finish the book and wrote down the first thing that came to mind, and didn't bother to change it, even though it sucked (something I've done with my zillions of English and psych papers, haha).
