Is the brown/black combo really that bad? I just bought a pair of brown winter boots because my size wasn't available in black. And I often times wear black pants...

I like Claudia's outfit on the front cover of Dawn's Big Move.
When I was in high school. The lockers was one long big gray lockers. Not two green lockers on top of each other, you see on the front cover. We had lock combinations on our lockers.

Whenever I see Dawn in a denim shirt and blue jeans it reminds me of Jay Leno.

I remember them talking about lockers next to each other (Shawna & Dawn's in Claudia & Middle School Mystery) but did they ever mention so & so's locker is above so & so?

^ Maybe a locker being on top of another one is just an inconsistency.

Dawn didn't take anyone's feelings about her leaving in this book. Especially not her mother's. I felt really bad for Sharon, both kids left her. And she really put the BSC in a jam, she didn't think about them either. She should have found a replacement sitter before she left. I liked Dawn in the earlier books, but the ghostwriters changed her personality so many times. Now after reading The We Love Kids Club, she's just turned into a spoiled brat.

It's Sharon's fault she moved her kids across the country.

Sharon really only has herself to blame . She moved her kids clear across the country in the middle of a life changing event ! No wonder Jeff didn't cope. He had to deal with two big events and that's a lot for a ten year old. And eventually Dawn wanted to move back. Sharon could have stayed in Cali and move to another area not so far from her kids father .
I get the feeling Dawn deep down doesn't really like Richard and we all know how she feels about women in their thirties and that they should act their age . I'm 43 and I don't act like someone in her forties !

It's Sharon's fault she moved her kids across the country. Yep I vented about that . I don't blame Jeff for acting the way he did he had to cope with a big move and his parents divorcing .

^ I could see Dawn and Jeff visiting one summer and then it turns around where she wants to stay in Stoneybrook permanently rather then the other way around. At least in a fun alternate universe.

He had to deal with two big events and that's a lot for a ten year old. And eventually Dawn wanted to move back. Sharon could have stayed in Cali and move to another area not so far from her kids father. No, Sharon is not the villain here...and she probably was homesick for Stoneybrook and didn't want to stay in Cali. And to her credit, she did give both of her kids the choice to move back west when they wanted. Some parents move their kids and give their kids no say in the move at all. I get the feeling Dawn deep down doesn't really like Richard... No, Dawn gets on with Richard all right...otherwise, she would never visit and Sharon would be flying out west to see her kids. Nowhere in the books is any tension or hard feelings ever shown between Richard and Dawn. ...and we all know how she feels about women in their thirties and that they should act their age. I'm 43 and I don't act like someone in her forties! Sharon is forty-two, the same age as Richard...unless you're thinking about Carol, Dawn's stepmum. I'm glad Sharon and Dawn came about in this series and joined Mary Anne and Richard's family. Darling Mary Anne desperately needed a mum and it was great seeing her gain a stepsister, especially one close to her age. And it was heartwarming seeing high school sweethearts Richard and Sharon reunited again. πππππππππππππππ

Rereading this again and even though I commented on it I'm still going to.
This book does my head in. Actually Dawn does my head in. All throughout this book she goes back and forth wanting to go home but then a few chapters later she wants to stay in Stoneybrook-after they did all the organising for her.
I'm glad she left for good several books later. She really didn't care about MA's feelings or anyone else's. Sharon must have realised at one point that she did the wrong thing by flying her kids halfway across the country to get away from her ex. I mean both of her kids eventually left her so it's all her fault. Why would you fly your kids who were already going through a divorce to the other side of the country? Did she do it to punish Jack? She didn't need to punish her kids. God I hate Sharon.

Kristy was particularly obnoxious in this. There was some serious guilt-tripping of Dawn because it would affect the BSC.
