You point a finger at someone and go, "Bzzzz." Very offensive.

Mizzmarvel on LJ did a post or two of all pictures of Jeff (and some of Byron) found in BSC books. Covers, sketches, etc. In one of them, they showed the bizzer sign. Let me see if I can find it... Edit: Oh, here it is. It was a sketch from Snowbound. I re-hosted the image so I'm not leeching from mizzmarvel. You can see one of the triplets giving it to Nicky here: img171.imageshack.us/img171/8974/snow1gs4.jpg

I reread this book a few months ago and I really loved it. I loved Stacey using reverse psychology on the Delaneys. I think that might actually work, for a little while, anyway. Her explanations for why she thought it worked pretty much made sense.

I think this book dealt with the issue of Louie dying very well. But something that hasn't been mentioned is Jeff throwing a complete mental yelling at Dawn when he drops his plate and that he hates her and his Mum. That chapter always makes me feel really uncomfortable...

WTF? Snowbound/Island Adventure/etc had illustrations? Why did they get taken out of the UK books? Not fair...
(Actually, those illustrations are kind of horrible. But still...)

Oh yeah the reverse psychology thing... that was in an episode of the TV show right? I remember them throwing around construction paper. Oddly enough, that is the most memorable part of this book for me, as far as what I remember reading when I was a kid. That and learning how to play Snail

The first version of the book described Amanda as having brown hair. I remember being pleased that they fixed the first mention of her hair color for the new cover version, but apparently no one read to the end of the book.

Aw, I love this book. The moments between Louie and David Michael are so sweet and then DM at the funeral for Louie... Maybe Shannon just really wanted to eat some of that pizza and took the easy way out. Oh yeah, me too! I know he probably must have felt very frustrated and angry, but dang that was harsh. I felt bad for Dawn, doesn't she shed a few tears while waiting for her mom to come back from her date?

I always kind of had the idea that Shannon might've been intrigued by Kristy, and wanted to be her friend, but had no idea how to go about it...you know how kids are at that age. She was with a pack of her friends, all alike, and here comes this girl that's totally different and doesn't care what anyone thinks. Maybe Shannon was initially bothering her as a way to get noticed...sort of like a junior high boy, LOL

I was planning to read this book only a few days ago, but after a couple of sentences I remembered it was the one in which Louis died. It makes me cry and feeling so sad, no matter who many times I read it before. Since I read the books in bed before I'm going to sleep I don't think it's a good idea reading things that make me so sad. So I put the book away and got myself an other one tho read.... Anyway I'm kind of glad to hear I'm not the only one having a hard time reading this one.

I just saw a picture of a Bernese Mountain Dog for the first time. I had never bothered to look before, but it came up as a thread on a pet forum I frequent. (Someone just got a Bernese puppy and was showing off pictures.) I had NO idea that that's what they looked like. For some reason, I was picturing something a little more... floofy and prissy, I guess. They are so cute, though! No wonder everyone loves Shannon The Dog so much. I re-read this a few months ago and I'm so glad I'm not the only one who cries at it! The relationship between David Michael and Louis reminded me a lot of the relationship between my brother and our cat.
Aww, those Bernese Mountain dog puppies are adorable! I love the way that Shannon is perpetually a puppy (like how Tigger is in a permanent state of kittenhood).

Oh, those puppy pictures are sooo adorable. I want one! I thought I remembered Shannon described as pretty large even for just a puppy. I imagined she was almost as big as Astrid on the cover of Kristy and the Snobs. But if she looked more like the smaller ones in those pics no wonder David Michael was crazy about her. Too cute.
