I couldn't believe the fact that they had a breakfast party but didn't even serve pancakes! That is insane...

^ Definitely. ;D But maybe they thought pancakes were too hard to make and wanted to stick with food that could be out and set up by the time the kids got there??? I'm not sure, though, as I haven't read this one for a while.

^ They are good. ;D Where would they buy pancakes, though, where they would still be decently fresh and warm by the time the kids got there? I would think they would get cold and hard and gross after a little while but I'm not a big pancake eater (get them once in a great while when I do go out for breakfast) so really don't know.

Where I live you can buy pancakes (the thick kind) from the bakery and put them in the microwave or the toaster to warm them up and they taste lovely... though I must admit nothing beats pancakes straight off the pan ;D

^ Okay. You're lucky because the only experiences I have with pancakes and trying to microwave them makes them taste all hard and dry or like rubber. Maybe I'm just not getting the right kind. ;D The whole breakfast party did sound fun. It was interesting that they did something different, too.

^ Add me to the list. ;D But now I'm also picturing what a huge mess so many kids could make out of pancakes. Sticky syrup everywhere..... ;D For tons of mentions of pancakes, the Boxcar Children books (later ones) are the best. They are always eating pancakes for breakfast it seems. ;D

I'm surprised nobody brought it up yet, but I loved Gozzie Kunka! Even though she was made up (wasn't she?) I always loved her name and wished she would have been a real character. I pictured her as a worldly, offbeat kind of kid. LOL...

I never even considered Gozzie Kunka realistic enough to be an actual character but if she was, I agree that she would be interesting. She always just annoyed me, though, because she seemed so obviously made up but no one caught on. I had forgotten this was the book that she was first mentioned in.
