Thanks, Anzuhana. Did he age or just have a birthday? Still, that's "amazing" for Stoneybrook.

I don't think he aged since his age was never mentioned. But he did have a birthday party.

I just finished and Mr. Kishi never did have his birthday. The "Saturday" that was supposed to happen was all about the GSBA instead. I think Suzanne Weyn really did "forget" or hoped "we" would anyway. I still fail to make the connection how lying about Claudia's job as a baby-sitter was supposed to help Haley. I "get" that saying the computer "conked out" along with whatever first excuse she gave her teacher for not having her hw, "bought her time." How does saying Claudia gabbed all night to Vanessa accomplish that? I guess along the lines of Haley telling the Claudia the wrong info about Matt's homework: That gave her (H) an excuse not to do her own. Such lame connections these last books.

I didn't get the lying connection either. I thought the connection of the two was that neither of them knew why they were acting the way they were, but I guess that's lame too!

I have nothing to add about this one, but are you two (zoar3 and wiggir13) reading like 5 BSC books a day? You're going through them so fast, and it seems like you're on the same ones too!

I don't know about Wiggirl, but for me, a lot of these end books I completely confess to not reading in their enterity. (Dog Trainer, Un-Valentine, At-Bat) are some examples of books I skimmed. Otherwise, I typically read one every day+. The "other" truth for me, anyway, is the sooner I'm done with these later books, (I haven't decided yet whether or not to re-read the FF's) the quicker I can go back to the better (early) ones. I noticed awhile back that Wiggirl and I were re-reading at the same time and basic order. It makes me wish the "BSC book club" had worked out better because it's definitely more fun to read "together."

I agree zoar, I would've loved a book club thing but was really glad you and I seemed to be reading together - perhaps a book every couple of days would have worked for the book club? I dunno? Sparklymouse - funny that you mentioned that, my boyfriend is out of town for work this last week and I can't turn my tv on b/c our DVR will explode so I have pretty much been reading 5 a day! Whew - I did really want to get to the end though one I was like 10 books away! Zoar - I'm going on to the FF series....don't know if you will join me but it has been fun!

^Me, too. You inspired (helped make it easier) for me to keep going this time around. I truly wanted (like last time) to run back by the later 70's. I really don't like the Friends Forever series at all. I will admit they accomplished their goal of being a spin-off of the BSC, just not "the BSC." If I look at it as the BSC hasn't been the BSC in forever anyway, it would make re-reading at least some of them easier. Let me finish what I will of "Fire" and we'll see. Are you going to start over when you're done or take a BSC reading break for awhile?

Wiggir13, I'm on the FF right now, but I only read one every few months. I'm probably the last poster in a lot of the threads, so if you want to talk about any of them I'll be around.

Yay! I have only read them all once and don't remember so we'll see how it goes.
Zoar - this may surprise you, but I got the CA diaries and have never read them so am thinking of reading them - but well my hatred for Dawn has really shown on this reread so now I don't know if I want to!

Well if both of you are reading...I have read them only a few times myself and never was a fan. I think I liked the potential of "Stacey's Problem" best. "Graduation Day" had its moments but I really was disappointed no one turned 14 and not one sibling or charge either aged or graduated. Wiggirl, Although, from what I understand each CD (I've never read--don't have--any of them) is basically a "portrait" of that person so maybe Dawn wouldn't be in all of them? IDK, you know what I think of her. I'll probably take a gander at some of the FF and then maybe take a BSC break for awile. I do have some non BSC books waiting to be read. The problem with making it all the way through, is that it makes me miss the "old" BSC even more so don't be surprised if I'm posting soon on the first few.

if nothing else, this book illustrated that a girl can like boys without having to settle for the first boy she sees, and i really love that. and at least it showed that girls and guys can be friends after they break up, because MA and stacey both dropped the ball on that one.

I don't own this book, nor have I ever read it, but every time I see the cover I think that Claudia - with her crossed arms, vest, hoop earrings, and ultra-high ponytail - looks like a (Jeannie-esque) genie:

Claudia has crazy long hair in that picture. Kinda looks like a horse tail.
