My cousins are Greek Orthodox, so I'm vaguely aware of the differences. We're very, very Protestant ourselves, not Catholic. In Russia it's called Catholic Christmas/Easter--Protestantism is not common or well-understood. In my family, we refer to the different holidays as "American" and "ours." I wasn't implying that everyone who celebrates on the 25th is Catholic, just that's how I differentiate.

Yeah, if that was supposed to be humor, it missed the mark. "Maybe I'll feel better reading about someone having a worse time than me." Come on, Mary Anne. I'm probably in the minority here, but that line made me giggle. Probably because I'm exactly the same way... in fact, the first time I read this book, I picked it because I was having a bad day, and she was having bad luck. *shrug* This is one of my favorites. The Pike sitting job is funny, and MA and Logan's cat costumes sound SO BSC. There are a lot of little moments in this one that I like... I guess that's what makes it rank so high in my book, despite the general goofiness.

For the longest time this book made me want to run around a graveyard at night. Fortunately I have grown out of that desire. That's too bad! There is a great cemetary in Savannah GA and they do an amazing pub crawl ghost tour at night. We should plan a BSC conference there and go for a midnight rendevous

^I'll take a pass on the cemetary tour, but would love to meet some of you. On second thought, maybe we could all go on the Haunted Mansion Ride together! It would be a lot of fun to go to Disneyland with you ladies.

I didn't pick up that Grace liked Logan when I was younger but I'm curious as to why it was later changed to Cokie liking Logan. I think it could've been interesting if Grace's crush remained. Maybe Grace and Cokie could've against each other for Logan's attention.
I liked the cemetary scene. I'm surprised that Charlie didn't go and check up on them at some point. I guess he felt that nothing serious would happen or that Kristy told him about what was going to happen. I wouldn't mind going to a cemetary at night but I think I would have more fun if I had some friends to go with.

When I was in Key West, we walked past a cemetery at night several times to get into town. I wanted to go inside but Jason said he'd rather pass, haha. It was kind of creepy. We did visit it in the daytime, though. It's actually a tourist attraction there and there are some tombstones with funny epitaphs on them. One woman had "Now I know where he's sleeping at night" inscribed on her husband's tombstone. Another one said "I told you I was sick." And another said, "I'm just resting my eyes."

Meg Cabot's newest book is about that cemetary.

After re-reading this book for the third times, I really love it! I love Claudia's and Mallory's entry for the time they sat together for Mallory's siblings. This is definitely my second favorite Mary Anne book.

Yes! Practically every word out of her mouth was an order. Claudia has to tell her to calm down. Logan has such a 'tude in this book.

We all know who's Daddy's little boy. Byron *cough cough* who loves to fill up on Daddy Stew that's made of hot dog wieners...
Was I the only one surprised that "shy" Mary Anne would wear a body suit to a school dance? Seemed a little out of character. Also, Logan decided to go into a middle of a strange cemetery, that he's never been before and didn't have an exact location or address, because he likes a little "fun and adventure"? Logan, don't you know that 13-year-old boys can get assaulted, too!? Just sayin'.
Mary Anne's outfit on the cover always slightly bothered me. She looks like an Easter egg... not in a good way. She also looks very old, like Momsy-ish, and I even thought that as a kid. I love how the scene in which they decided to feature on the cover happens in the book in passing. There's like... a few sentences about her sitting job with Jamie.

Logan, don't you know that 13-year-old boys can get assaulted, too!? Just sayin'. It actually seems very in character. Mary Anne was supposed to be interested in the trends. Most body suits weren't sexy anyway. East coast cemeteries have much more history and character than I am used to. You can't really hide in the ones around here. Logan could have stood on the sidewalk outside the gates and watched the big plan unfold. (Then I hope he would have turned around and walked home.)
