I got the feeling Dawn was using basic things as well - nothing that would truly be missed ya know? Also didn't MA hate Dawn's make over? and Dawn got all pissed when MA told her she looked ridiculous.

I never thought about Dawn possibly chopping up good clothes. Hopefully she did just ruin old stuff, especially since the "new Dawn" didn't go over well. I really liked Lewis in this one and was glad that Dawn finally saw she needed to be herself. This was another example of Dawn "the individual" changing herself for a boy. I did like this one, though, because it ended well and I enjoyed reading about the "Big Dates"

Mmm... MA talking about Logan liking her the way she was, was annoying, and quite rude if you ask me!

^^Didn't she say something like she and Logan have gone out forever and he's used to the way she looks so she doesn't have to change, blah blah blah?
Maybe she's getting back at Dawn for the way she was treated when she got her hair cut. We know MA is the queen of passive agressive.

^ Mary Anne hadn't gotten her hair cut yet....that was in book #60. I'm very in tune with all the makeover books; they were always my favorites.

I always got confused at the part in this book when Dawn tells the others "You didn't jump all over Mary Anne when she changed her hair and looks," because I thought, that won't happen until #60! Then I realized she might have been talking about when MA took her hair out of braids

^ i think she was...
MA kept saying, oh i don't have to do this, Logan likes me the way I way, in a way that implied Dawn had to change for Lewis.

I suppose they were okay with MA taking her hair out of braids, because that made her look normal. Getting trendy clothes, makeup and a stylish haircut made her a little too cute for those jealous girls, it seems.

I understand why MA wasn't happy with Dawn for trying to change her looks. I got the impression that she was more disappointed in her "individual" sister than jealous or anything like that. And she was trying to stop her from making a mistake, I think. From my perspective, MA and the other girls too did have good intentions in trying to get Dawn to just be herself.

I guess I'm conflicted on their intentions. Sometimes they just seemed flat-out jealous. Like how dare anyone other than Stacey or Claudia care about how they look?

^ I think they're definitely jealous in some and have that attitude. Just not in this one. But I might be wrong. I think I'm analyzing way too much, more than the authors probably ;D

But Dawn's transformation was so different that her regular self. It wasn't like MA's makeover, where she looked "normal" when she took the braids out of her hair, then she looked really cute. Dawn just looked weird with her new torn clothes, lots of make-up, and half-braided hair. Then she also took on that bad attitude.
