Okay, refresh my memory. Was this the one where some of the parents compared banning the play to taking drugs? I know that happened in one of the books, can't remember if it was this one.No, that was in Dawn and the School Spirit War. Basically one parent said that if kids said no to Spirit Month, they'd start doing drugs

^ I don't remember that comparison from School Spirit War but I'm going to reread within the next few days so I'll look for it. Interesting..... As for this one, I do like holiday books and can't remember much about the details of this one so I am looking forward to rereading it. Anyone else wait until the specific holidays to read books? ;D

Wow, for such indifferent parents most of the time, the Stoneybrook parents really knew how to focus on the unimportant issues!

I've never waited for holidays to read certain books, aln, but I've never cared for holiday books really anyway. I think I will bring this one out on thanksgiving though cause I've only read it once!! (well i'll have to ask my sister to bring it out cause i don't own it yet, tear)

I really like when Abby goes off on a parent during one of their rehearsals. "Just because you believe a bunch of lies and propaganda doesn't mean we have to!" Yup.

^ Abby can be kind of funny sometimes going off on people. This makes me think of when she went off on Alan in Abby's Twin for no reason (except he accidently bumped into Anna and then tried to apologize). She is actually one of the more interesting characters to read about, now that I think about it.

^ I hated Abby back in the day... thought she wasn't classic BSC. But I really enjoy reading about her now. I love her activist ways!

heheh about the propaganda thing. I might have to buy this book and show it to my college history teacher... he'd probably really like it. It was the first time i'd ever heard about what their play is about. might have to make a trip to half price books and see if they have it...

I didn't read enough Abby books back in the day to have much of an opinion on her when I was younger, but I guess I always liked her well enough. I know some people find it annoying that a character who was sometimes even more Kristyish than Kristy was introduced, rather than someone with a really different personality, but I like that. It's really fun to see someone who's not afraid to challenge Kristy.

^ Me too. She challenges Kristy and is similar to her in many ways but also very different. I wish there had been more interaction between Abby and the other girls, though. I had forgotten that she worked with Claudia in this one.

I liked how Abby stood up to the parent's in this book a lot. I need to re read this book though to remember more about it. It's on my list though since Thanksgiving is around the corner.

Abby was cool in this book, but for the most part I thought they gave in waaay too easily and I was really annoyed by that.

This was one of the not-so-good BSC books, but it made me like Abby a lot more. She could mirror Dawn trying to change Peter Pan..but she wasn't bitchy or patronizing.
