^You're right, it really is a tongue twister. What else would work?

I just re-read and as someone else said there really was a weird, "off" quality to this book. I'm not sure how to explain other than by saying, perhaps there was too much going on at once. One thing, that is sort of O/T, in the book before this one, "Baby-sitters' Remember," the dedication is to "Jahnna and Malcolm, Dash, and Skye." Were J and M (2 BSC Ghosties, married and Dash and Skye their kids)? This book was written by them. Peaches may have taken the time off from work immediately, seemingly like an opposite message from Ann, but there was no shortage of reminders that a pale purple, or pastels could work for a boy as well as a girl. ITA about not putting girls only in pink and boys only in blue, but come on, this was I also agree with whoever said, I never thought of this, about Natalie knowing all the kids in the regular client neighborhood. It would have been interesting to read about her, someone who goes to Stoneybrook Academy making friends with kids from SES, how she knew all of them, I mean. Speaking of SA, I liked Pamela Harding was semi-nice in the hopscotch scene. I don't think Natalie ever jump roped again with (or without) Char and Becca. For that matter, when did Char and Becca get so into jump roping? Edited to add, I actually liked Mary Anne in this book. She had a wry sense of humor and was actually a good friend to Claud. Amazing.

Does Natalie every show up again? I can't remember.
I totally agree about MA in this book. I liked her too and that is rare (possibly b/c every time they mentioned her it wasn't crying about Dawn). I thought Natalie was very bizarre but I guess there are people out there that don't want to encroach on already established relationships.
I liked Claudia's relationship with Peaches and thought it was very reminiscent of Mimi.

^This was a rare occassion where MA was very likeable. I don't think Natalie ever showed up again? She didn't attend, "Camp BSC" did she? I don't think she did. It would have been nice had Peaches and Claudia talked a little about Mimi, since I don't think anyone (except Claud or the narrator to "us) ever mentions her.

ITA about not putting girls only in pink and boys only in blue, but come on, this was I never even considered the possibility that this could be feminist propaganda. I figured it was just because Claudia wanted to knit something but didn't know the gender of the baby. I don't use pink or blue yarn either if I haven't been told; my coworker is pregnant and the baby stuff I'm knitting is all cream because the ultrasound said girl but she swears this one is going to be a boy

^ I wouldn't have either except I felt there were a few too many color explanations that basically all said the same thing. Lol. I hope whatever your coworker has the baby is healthy and family happy.

I thought the lavender purple was a good choice, but also something like peaches and cream would work, and it would be funny cause of the peach colour and Peaches the person

"peaches punchlines" is really hard to say! How about Punchlines by Peaches?

^That is a little easier to say. Lol to Peaches for Peaches. I'm not a purple person, pink all the way, but lilac-y/lavender can be a little better than true, dark purple. I admit to not seeing that as a color for a boy though. I know, no "boy" or "girl" colors, ITA for the most part, just in this example seemed misplaced.

what about Indigo?

Indigo is more blue than purple. I think violet can be as well. Except violet always conjures up the name of the daughter of someone from a horrible childhood experience. Back to this book, like clients not used in a book, Russ and Peaches "disappear" until "Claudia and the World's Cutest Baby." I "get" (and respect) after this experience they'd want time alone. It was just odd since apparently the families were so close that they got no mention.

Plot: Sad, that Peaches miscarried. I'll love go get pizza after midnight. That sounds like fun.
Sub-plot: I felt sorry for Natalie Springer, not having any much of friends. She must have skinny legs if socks keeps drooping all the time.
On the front cover, looks like Claudia & Peaches, at some banquet center helping out. Until, I read the book. They we're making gourmet dinner for their family.
I enjoy reading this book.
My older sister went through2 miscarriage & 1 stillborn. She has 3 kids, 1 is on the way. (Due in April)

I forget, where did they go for pizza? Pizza Express? I'm surprised they even had an option for midnight pizza in Stoneybrook. Where I live everything but bars are closed by ten.
