A lot of the BSC titles kind of sucked, IMO. .... and Dawn and the We Love Kids Club should really have been called, like, Dawn Steals Money and Flies Across the Country. OMG I almost choked laughing when I read that! So true and so funny!!!

Claudia was by far the mean, bitter one. Ugh. Poor Janine! Which book is the one where Janine steals Claud's sweater or something and starts wearing clown makeup to go out with Jerry? I love that one! I'm a Janine fan!

I love that one! I'm a Janine fan! Blossom's right that the one with Jerry was Mystery at Claudia's House. This is the one where Mimi has the stroke and Claud thinks that Janine isn't concerned enough or something like that and gets mad at her for it. I definitely think it's Claudia who is mean. After all, she's the one who starts to slap Janine for absolutely no reason. That always shocked me. I'm a big Janine fan, too. ;D

I will never understand why Janine was considered "mean" in this one. Claudia was a b*tch, though.

Yeah, apparently being misunderstood by your family makes you mean Or maybe because she got into some fights with Claudia? But still...silly, silly title.

Random thing: I love Mimi and the "waffle eye-ron."

^ I had forgotten about that but also loved it. ;D Mimi can be pretty funny. The more I read about her and give her a chance, the more I like her (pre-stroke mostly, though. After makes me too sad.)

The problem was, we didn't see enough of her pre-stroke. I wish that had happened later on.

^ Me too since there were only 6 books before this one and this was only the second Claudia one. I think the character of Janine really evolved a lot from where she started at the beginning of the series, though I liked her in this book, too. I liked her a lot more later when she seemed like less of a stereotypical nerd but really felt for her in this one. She was the one getting cut out in a way but at the same time, being blamed for it. I did enjoy the connection to the subplot, too.

^ Speaking of Claudia hiding cereal in her room, I just read one where she pulls out some frosted flakes. I thought of this, especially with the serial/cereal thing because this is a personal joke for me, too, since I once accidently (have no idea how I did it as I definitely knew the difference) wrote "cereal" instead of "serial" on an exam. I didn't notice it, of course, until it was one of the instructor's comments. I was so embarrassed but laugh at myself every time I read something that Claudia does like that. ;D

I thought it was neat when I read that she pulled out some Frosted Flakes because I loved them as a kid. Dawn had a point when she said that this cereal is practically all sugar -- they are definitely sweet!
