I will have to read Mary Anne’s Big Breakup sometime. I missed an opportunity to complete my collection years ago at a really great book sale and that would have been one of them!

Hope you're able to get the book soon! Check on Amazon.
It's a rather poignant book, but has a happy ending with Mary Anne's friends being supportive of her.

Cute I thought Tigger was in a bowl of salad. The computer is cool. That jar looks plenty big to get a hand out of it. Title translations: Logan and Mary Anne like each other (To the point) Tim loves Inge! Bruno likes Anne! A lover for Anne-Marie (Whoa) Bruno loves Melanie Mary Anne fell in love Mary Anne falls in love

That last one is cute — though MA and Logan should both have much lighter hair.

This is one of my favorites! I actually like Logan in this one, when normally he's my least favorite of the sitters. I think their romance is actually really sweet in this. I don't care that it's a bit unrealistic that Logan would choose the shy girl. I don't always read the BSC for realism. It also has my favorite BSC outfit of all time- the famous cities skirt. Idk why I'm such a fan; I am NOT a skirt person.
The gum in the locker grossed me out. Yuck. I don't like gum in general though.
I was really surprised when Dawn spent the night at Kristy's house. That's cool. I think they both really make an effort to get along in the early books.
One weird thing I noticed- Mary Anne doesn't describe Kristy as her best friend in this book (unless I missed it, and I looked several times), and refers to Dawn as her "new best friend." Ouch. Also, forgot to state this earlier, but Mary Anne seemed to get over Kristy moving across town really quick. Kristy may not be my favorite anymore, but while re reading the early books, I do feel bad for her and Mary Anne growing apart a bit.
I actually liked the Chewy chapter. He reminds me of Shadow, a black Lab I had years ago.
Shocked that Kristy canceled the meeting to get ready for a dance.
The treasury only adds up to $5 a week (a dollar for each of them)? Wtf? How do they afford anything?

According to google, $5 in 1986 is about $13.35 now. That's still really low.

We need one of those birthday cards that list all the prices of things in your birth year for 1986.

I just re-read this one because it's one of Mt favorites. I somehow didn't pick this up in my series re-read, but, if I'm reading Ann's note right, this is when she and her editors decided not to age the characters. I think it makes sense for the main series (although so much happens it's ridiculous. The Schafer-Spier timeline makes my head spin), but I still wish they'd done FF in high school (CDs too, but since that series started in the main series, I think they were sort of locked in). Or maybe #100 would have been a good time to transition to high school.
Back to the book, yeah, this is a classic! And so much is different in the early series. They feel more like 13 (and in Mary Anne's case, 12) year olds, Kristy is overall a more well-rounded character with her insecurities, and the sitting jobs tend to be unrelated to the plot, but are entertaining.
One interesting thing: Mary Anne came up with the idea of associate members. Kristy named the title, but it was all Mary Anne's idea. In later books, Kristy tends to get all the credit for this. Actually seems realistic, although it sucks.
I relate to Mary Anne's reaction to the party. I've dealt with embarrassment over my reactions to things because I have anxiety problems. Yeah, it's no fun.
