^Aw, I did like that, Supprazz. I wouldn't have minded that subplot being more of the plot. I wonder if Shannon had ever been made "Alternate Officer," and had at least one book outside of "Shannon's Story," if the garden would have grown? (in terms of mentions).

I liked the subplot too! I would have liked to hear about some big garden and maybe a plant ribbon or something (if that actually exists)

I am fairly certain that there was a period where Shannon was listed as alternative officer on the back of the books, and that is when Shannon's Story came out.

^Oops, you're right she was listed. She also did attend more meetings and have a tiny bit more involvement. I just would have liked her to have taken over period for Dawn.

She was listed Alternative Officer when Dawn left the first time. I wonder how many BSC years that garden would have lasted

^ And without much tending too that we saw at that. Maybe it was "magic."

stacey kind of grosses me out in this book. there are mentions of her burping, nearly throwing up, pimples erupting on her face.. all sorts of stuff. peter's writing style is definitely funny, but it works better for some characters than for others. this book for me is where stacey goes from sophisticated to desperate, and i feel like another ghostwriter (really any other ghostwriter) could have handled the book better.

i thought this book was written by Suzanne Weyn, not Peter.

I checked and it was Peter Lerangis that wrote this book.

So there are a few things about this book that I wanted to mention. So it's book 70, and Kristy hasn't met Tiffany yet -- her neighbour?! She's been living there for quite a while now, so you'd think that she'd have met her. It mentions how Kristy has met Shannon and Maria but not Tiffany...
Why did Logan make that cheerleading poster in Chapter 7? (har har)
So Stacey let's out a silent burp in this book and there's also a scene where she's in a bathroom stall trying to vomit with an upset stomach. And she's also sweats a lot. Gross. In fact, she looks pretty gross and sweaty on the cover. Just check out her hair! It looks lumpy and sweaty.

^Maybe Kristy didn't want to "remember" meeting Tiffany because we were never told why she (T) was possibly turned down for BSC Membership. Way back when in #13, Tiffany was an 11-year old baby-sitter. A very interesting storyline might have been if Tiffany had remained 11, found out that Mal and Jessi were members and wanted to join as well, even as an Associate. I wonder if Ann and Co changed her age to further add to their need to introduce us to more of Kristy's neighbors such as the Bashers?
Edited to add ITA there was no need for "us" to hear about Stacey and the lobsters.

This book was pretty gross. Maybe Peter Lerangis was trying to tell us something? I was impressed however on how fast Stacey got rid of her hiccups. It made me laugh when RJ suggested she do a headstand. I never noticed the poster in Logan’s handwriting. Lol. Maybe he needed extra-credit? It's not like he was a basketball player or cheerleader so the teachers wouldn't have let him just skip class... like some other 8th graders. I did like Robert in this book. Even if it was unrealistic, he was really supportive and that cheerleading card he gave Stacey was cute.

I think what differs Mal and Jessi from (11 year old) Tiffany was that they were actually interested in sitting and had actual experience sitting for their families. I doubt Tiffany ever sat for Maria, because that would most likely be Shannon's job. Also, I got the impression that all the Kilbourne girls led really hectic, busy lives, so they weren't even considered for BSC membership for that point alone. Only until later in the series do we find out that Tiffany is a "loner" with no hobbies.

I wish we heard more about Tiffany and gardening later on. We heard about Maria being good at swimming and math in different books.

I just read this one for the first time, and I just couldn't really buy the plot. Stacey was already pretty popular in school, so I don't find it believable at all that she dorks out and gets so excited when the cool jocks and cheerleaders start being friendly to her. I would have enjoyed this book more and found it more believable if they had used another sitter, like Jessi or someone.
And ITA with what's been said already about the coolness of cheerleaders (especially middle school cheerleaders) being waaay overblown in this book. When I was in school, cheerleading wasn't even that particularly cool...honestly I think the cool kids would have found it kinda uncool to spend so much time cheering for your school teams.
