Isn't it a bit strange that the Papadakis's need so many baby sitters while Lou is staying with them? Wouldn't you spend more time at home, helping the foster child adjust?

I thought one of their parents got really really sick?

^ I think that was in Claudia and the Great Search... unless we're meant to assume that Lou's visit was actually spread out over a long period of time.

Lou pretty specifically arrives and leaves in this book, I think.

She does arrive and leave. To be fair to the Papadakises, they only had a sitter two times during the extended period when she was there. The grandpa or someone had broken his hip in Great Search and this one doesn't give a specific reason for them needing a sitter except they were going out. It's understandable they would have to (or want to ;D) a few times at least. ;D

I'm reading this book at the moment and there's so many referances to pizza! It's making me very hungry... Also there are a million referances to Ann's favourite film Don't get me wrong, I love that film but I cannot believe how many times she puts it in her books! I agree. I just finished this one and couldn't believe(actually, I could)all the Wizard of Oz references. Good grief!

^ I forgot about the pizza references. I always like those so maybe I will have to read this book again soon, even though I don't like the book much at all. ;D What is the subplot in this one?

The SMS auction. The BSC gets the celebrity donations.

^ Thanks. I remember that one now and didn't care for it much. Another reason I don't really care for this book. ;D

Oh, I love this subplot! I think it's fun. And I like the auction at the end.

Is this the one where Watson buys something at the auction at the end? If so, I liked the part with the auction but couldn't get into writing the celebraties and waiting for them to answer. Cokie was funny, though, if I remember right - bidding on her own donation. ;D

^ Yeah, he and Elizabeth buy some old records or something. And Cokie's father bought her donated item, in a "bored sort of voice." I really like this book, but I have to agree with a post you made in the first or second page, aln, when you said Lou disturbed you. I really sympathised with her, but there was something really... scary about her behaviour. There's a bit where she drops dough or something on Hannie's head, and after Hannie bursts into tears and says "I hate you!", Lou "looks her right in the eyes" and says "And I hate you." That passage just really disturbed me. I'm not quite sure why. The auction: Putting aside the fact that of course, every celebrity in the Stoneybrook universe dropped everything they were doing once they saw the BSC's members' names on the return address, did the girls really have to beat Cokie *again*? Sometimes I get really exasperated with that plot: the BSC and Cokie go head-to-head, the BSC comes out on top. I would have thought MA would have kept Cam Geary's jacket and substituted it with a worthless one. Also, who in their right mind would pay more than a hundred dollars for twenty-four hours of the BSC's service? The BSC have rates that wouldn't buy you peanuts, so why spend more than you have to? But of course, the Stoneybrook Saints will! It's for a good cause! They're rich! They love the BSC! I laughed when Kristy made a big deal out of having to spend several hours of baby-sitting money on her autographed photo. That must be a lot. Otherwise, good book, and the Craine girls reappear! Yay! Random question: You know how whenever they order pizzas, they usually get enough for about a slice of pizza each? Does America have massive pizzas or something? I'm not a big pizza fan, nor am I a huge eater, but I'd still be starving with only one slice. And Kristy and Claudia especially seem to be big eaters, so I'm wondering how they can be satisfied with only one.

I don't know. I remember seeing a lot of the time that they would get "a pizza." In Mystery 36, near the end, don't they "happily dig into" one pizza or something? And that's plus Cary. Still, sixteen slices, let's say seven sitters. That gives them two each and another for a couple of them. Maybe I'm a pig, and I never knew it, but they're growing teenage girls- they're full after two slices each? (I'm thinking wayyy too much about this. )
