^ Agree that the Stacey/Charlotte reunion was sweet but had forgotten about it. I hope all worked out well for your sister and your family with the adoption. I'm actually glad to hear that she made this hard choice as I am a big supporter/promoter of adoption and think more kids and girls would benifit from making this decision, as difficult as it must be. I think this book has some of my favorite baby-sitting moments in it. I always love when they sit for a big group

Just quickly reread (love this one) and noticed that Jamie says his mommy and daddy can't take him to the carnival and wonder why since they're obviously home on Mother's Day when the BSC takes him, instead. Maybe his parents have an unnatural fear of clowns??? ;D Just wondered if I was missing something with this or if anyone had an idea why the Newtons couldn't take Jamie themselves. Didn't make sense but I guess I shouldn't think too much about these things.

aww the stacey/ charlotte reunion had me in tears. I'm so Mary-Anne ish that way. *sucker*!!!! This is one of my favorites... I dont know why... I think it was one of the first I read... maybe that's why. Loved the whole carnival thing and Karen getting scared of the haunted house.

^ Also love this book, especially the Haunted House and the whole carnival. Group sitting experiences are my favorites and Jamie is very funny in this one singing Home on the Range "Oh give me a comb...." ;D

I haven't read this in ages. Is it the one where they take the picnic lunch and the kids are squirting water on each other from the drinking fountain? heh. I love the cover to this, I think Kristy looks really cute on it.

^ The boys do play in the fountain and get Claire all wet at the park during their picnic after the carnival - one of my favorite parts ;D I also like Kristy on this cover and the carnival looks really fun.

ITA about the suddenness of the adoption, but am glad they adopted I thought it was sweet for Mr Pike to look after the babies, and the BSC to do what they did. But I would be hurt if I were Mrs McGill.

^ What about Mrs. McGill - because she didn't get a "present" by getting her kid watched for the day? I'm sure Stacey gave her another present, though, and I never thought she would have thought twice about it. I'm an only child and my mom would have just been like "oh, that's so nice you're doing that for the other moms" (as long as I was also giving her something ;D) so maybe that's why I'm thinking that. The one I feel pretty bad for in this one is MA. Mother's Day has to be hard for her but I thought she handled it well and liked how she decided to buy a present for Richard.

I thought the adoption was kind of random, probably because Watson and Kristy's mom are seen actually spending time with Emily about once or twice in the rest of the series.

Definitely not an unnatural phobia to have. I think I meant that their particular expression of it was unnatural (am not exactly sure how I meant) but know that there is no "natural" way to express a fear. Once again, trying to make a joke that came out wrong, I guess. As for fears in this one, I could relate to Karen in the Haunted House. Except I was 10 when I had to be led out and haven't been back to one since ;D

Who has seen IT and is not scared of clowns?! With Mrs McGill, I meant because Stacey doesn't get to see her on the day. And dhe's an only kid. And the McGills were having problems, so its likely Mrs McGill was alone all day.

^ she did go home later though...mbe she spent the evening with her mom? idk. Anyway I wasj ust reminded of this book tonight. I'm working in a haunted house, near the beginning. We must've done a good job, cause there were two groups early on that were begging to be let out, and they were SERIOUS. One of them, the mom came to me, her son was terrified..he was about ten and asked if they coudl get out, so I had to quickly show them the emergency exit door... a little while later, scared the crap out of three girls, they got around the next corner and they were begging to be let out, and noone would, so guess who had to come to their rescue? ha. I'm so evil... heheh. at least we scared them out of the house instead of bored them out of the house. Felt bad for the little kids though. it says on the flier it's not reccommended for kids.
